By the way if you have a mean answer or a answer that doesn't help then don't answer this. And by the way it was not a glorified rat!!!

I am sorry for your loss truly. There is nothing that can replace a beloved pet, however it will get better. I know sounds like same ol same ol but it is true. You do not have to forget you hamster but you could get another. You are obviously a loving person and pet would be lucky to have you as their very own. I f you believe in God ask Him to take away your hurt and give you direction on what to do next.
Wishing you the very best

I think you should stop listening to whatever that is you're listening to and find some show tunes on Accuradio!
I am in the process of having to deal with losing my 15-year-old very nice little girl kitty. She died last Saturday. I've lost other pets in the past as well, and its awful.
Probably the only way to stop missing him is to either get another little guy and start to enjoy the new little one. He won't replace your other one, and all pets are different; but sometimes when you feel sad what you need is something nice to be in your head rather than just letting the sadness stay there and get stagnant.
If you can't get another hampster you need to find other things to do that will occupy your mind.

When I was a kid my favorite cat got hit by a car. I cried my eyes out. After a while the pain gradually goes away on it's own. You'll even feel bad for feeling better - as odd as that sounds. But it will happen. Give it time.

Step 1:
See a therapist.
Step 2:
Realize it is just a hampster that died, not your parents.
Step 3:
Find meaning and connection somewhere else besides a rodent.
Step 4:
Joy.
