The male has (hydrocephalus) but doing well on meds for now, very healthy, the female has open fontanel(large soft spot on head) and a back left hind leg movable patella (kneecap). Both are extremely tiny one is 1/2 pound and the other almost a pound at eight weeks. I didn't want them so tiny but they came from a big litter and now I love them. I have read all about all of this on the internet but would love to hear from someone who experienced these things or knows of someone who did.

I don't want to get saddled with dealing with another animal to feed. We already have a cat that I take care of. How will the cat and hamster get along? Do they stink?

I am wondering how old a puppy should be before we give her rawhide chew bones. She has this need to chew incessantly and I'd love to get her one if it's safe. Also, what's your opinion of invisible fencing?
Thanks.

He is a a year old. He has had two bladder infections in the last 6 months both treated with antibiotics, as it appeared successfully. This AM he started vomiting clear/white emesis and is hidding under a dresser. He is usualy overly friendly to a fault, follows you around always under foot. In high school my mother had a cat with the exact same symptoms that eded up dying of renal failure.
Please only answer if you have had an experience with this or have formal training in veterinary medicine. Thank you in advance. Yes, he has an appointment today at 1:15 with his vet.

My adult daughter wants to get a small dog.She lives in a condo and the small dog will be home alone during the day for up to 5 hours. Some people are saying to crate the dog. I don't like that at all. She wants a friendly, playfull lap dog . How long can a small dog hold in his stuff? What do you think of crating a small dog? If he is crated will he still like to lay around the house or will he go to his crate instead of spening time with my daughter watching TV on the couch when she is home.? Any help would be much appreacheated.

I have a one year old white german shepherd who is very docile and sweet, and we're getting another dog in a few months. What kinds of dogs get along well with other dogs? It doesn't matter if the breed is small or large.

a tiny kitten was dropped at my doorstep. Its eyes and nose are dripping infection, it is flea infested. I don't have the money to take to a vet, and the local shelter wont take cats. I can't leave it to die in the cold, could use any and all helpful generic ways to clear the eyes of infection and get rid of the fleas. I figure it can't be more than 3 weeks old. Besides milk or cream, do you need to supplement a kitten with protein??

I feed him Max from Petco. The dog food is great but no matter what he eats he has a awful stinch to his farts. This is not a joke it really is making me sick! He is an inside dog and he is just as sweet as he can be. He is always beside me like he has claimed ownership over my me. He seems to sometimes act mad, so Huff (My dog) will fart. Then he leaves my side and moves about 10 feet away and he looks at you like,..... What?..... I didn't do it! Any suggestions? What makes me type this for help? My husband now calls Huff you Fart Blossom and I couldn't hold my orange juice this morning. While sitting here reading yahoo, Huff does it again and I laugh and gag at the same time. I am so grossed out to the point where it's just not funny anymore. Orange juice kinda burns coming back up! Can anyone relate?

He gently bites my leg to tell me he is hungry every morning.
He has leaped up in the air and turned on a light switch to wake me up....he also plays with the door stopper to wake me up.
He gets on his hind legs and grabs the doorknob and tries to turn it when he wants to go outside....is this normal?

My husband and I adopted a 4-year-old boxer from his coworkers because they recently had a baby, and the dog was very jealous. When we first got Sadie, she was very sweet. In fact, she is still an angel with us. But as time goes on, we have realized that Sadie is VERY jealous, VERY territorial, and is just not very socialized at all. It seems that those people did not ever have her around other dogs OR children.

Is there any way to socialize the dog at this stage? Some people have suggested that I get one of the training collars, and deliver a small shock via remote every time she is aggressive (when we are walking, usually). Does anyone agree/disagree or have any other suggestions? This is a very large dog, 70 pounds, and though she does not try to bite, she is very loud and menacing. Please help!
