Vacuum your house well. Sprinkle borax all over the carpet. Under chairs too. Brush in with broom. Let sit 24 hours. Vacuum back up. fleas may get a bit more active at first but this will kill them. It will last a year. While waiting for all the fleas to die put advantage, or frontline on all of your pets. Do NOT use seven dust in the house. It is toxic.

Borax! Thats the best for getting rid of them in the house. Fleas can lay thousands and thousands of eggs so even when you think you got all the nasty things...BAM they spring back to life...lol.

Sprinkle it over all the carpets and rub it in. If you have hardwood or tile go to the home improvment store and pick up a houshold spray that kills fleas (most of em kill thousands of bugs not just fleas) Home Defense works great. For fleas spray every three to 5 days for at least a month in combination with borax and flea treatment for the animals this should whip the problem shortly.

I haven't found any "non toxic" sprays or powders that have worked on fleas.. and I've tired them all.

They get into the furniture, cuffs of your jeans, on your socks etc, you don't always see them. Wash everything...or put into freezer. Your vacuum, .. take the bag out, if it has one, they love living in the vacuum bags.. freeze it, if you don't want to throw it away.

I use a brand of spray called Zodiac .Premise 1000 for the house/not the dog. It's the only thing that has ever worked.

Make sure the dog has no fleas left on it.. or they will just come back.

Good luck... from owner of "fleabag"

I've tried this method so I know it helps.... set bowls of water with Dawn dish washing detergent in it on the floor near a light or lighted area and you will be amazed how many fleas you will catch & it kills them instantly. The cats or dogs won't drink the water either.
