Keep him awake more during the day!! Make sure he's well exercised and tired before bed time. Does he sleep in a crate? If so, give him a few toys and things to chew on. Sleeping in your room might make him feel better because he's closer to you.
But all puppies cry at night at first, you have to be consistent, grit your teeth and you'll get through it. Don't let him out when he cries, because if you do you're teaching him to cry. He'll learn that if he cries, he gets out, so don't give in to him. Everyone with a new puppy experiences the same thing.

Puppies need lots of sleep, but just like babies they have to get their awake time in tune with yours. Why is he/she allowed to sleep all day? Is it because you're not home? They have to become fatigued. Lots of play in the evening and outdoor play. A brisk walk in the evening air helps. Are you crate training? Sometimes puppies need a "den" to feel safe in at night. Place next to your bed at night to begin with...then you can slowly move her/him further away.
Good luck....it's like having a baby all over again.

I am assuming that he is barking and otherwise keeping you awake?
Time consuming on your part but you need to wake your puppy up and play with him. Allow him his short naps during the day but wake him up an dplay with him. He is going to get tired and cranky but .... Soon he should be sleeping at night.

well since he's a puppy he's still a baby and babies sometimes get their days and nites mixed up. I would say he will grow out of it. If you are worried about him tearing things up at nite when u are sleeping you could get a kennel cage for him at nite. It is also the best way I know to housebreak a dog, is to cage train them. If you have to go away you put them in the cage and when u get home you let them out as soon as u get home and take them outside. They soon learn the routine. It only took me about 3 weeks to housebreak my Lab. Hope this helps. :)

you keep him up, play with him, then you let him sleep. But only for a while! Then you play with him again. You keep this up all day. Also right before bedtime, play with him throw a toy and have him chase it. Do whatever you can to make him exhausted! Then put him in bed and he will sleep.

Try to keep him active during the day, play with him, have him walking around the house, etc. otherwise this will be set as a regular behaviour for him and hard to cope with it during the years.
