Every cat can have different tastes, they are usually finicky with food. Most cats however, love tuna and will eat it , some would just lick the juice, others turn their nose up at it.
A vet might say that you would usually be better off feeding it cat food because it is formulated for the cat's health. I occasionally feed my cat tuna, milk, and other people foods. I am sure most vets would say there is nothing wrong with occasionally feeding a cat tuna.

Most cats love tuna, and you can give it to her once in a while, but I would not reccommend giving it daily. Maybe once a week as a treat. They do make tuna for cats. This would be safer, and would cost less. Can find it at any grocery store, pet store or a Trader Joes.

I have a friend that has a cat that is 20 or 21 yrs. old. She has fed her cat tuna everyday. I've never known a cat to live that long before and have always wondered if the tuna helped in her longevity. All cats love tuna.
p.s. Feed a cat sardines in oil to help rid cat fur balls. It really helps.

Lot's of great answers here. I would have to agree with the folks who suggested primarily feeding your cat a good nutritionally balanced cat food (your vet can tell you which ones are best).
Giving cats tuna every now and again as a treat, will not harm them and will add a little variety to their diet. Most cats will eat it & really enjoy it. To find out if your cat likes it, simply offer him/her some. Kitty will either devour it or snub it & then you'll know.
Another plus is that if your cat likes it, you can use it to re-enforce positive behavior...in other words, don't just offer it randomly, but instead catch your kitty using the litter box and as soon as he/she is finished (don't interrupt them during) say "good Kitty", pet them and offer some tuna...this could possibly help with future problems of having them go other places in the house where they aren't supposed to. You can also reward a kitty this way, for using a scratching post instead of the furniture.
Best wishes to you & your cat!

Hi there...most cats will eat tuna, however tuna should not be fed to cats other than as a very rare occasional treat. The reason is that cats are primarily "obligate carnivores" and require a diet rich in animal meat proteins not soy proteins. Without the animal protein they suffer very serious ill medical effects and any vet can confirm this fact as well, which is why it's important not to convert them to become vegetarians.

"TUNA FOR CATS? NO!
Tuna can be fatal to cats and is not something to be fed to them...The human variety of tuna fish contains an enzyme that destroys vitamin B1 (thiamine). Cats who regularly eat tuna can develop a vitamin B1 deficiency, which results in neurological symptoms like dilated eyes, loss of equilibrium, seizures and death if this vitamin is not replaced. The scientific name of this disease is polioencephlomalacia.
Clearwater veterinarian Richard Brancato said that though most domestic cats do enjoy fish, feeding them a diet of only tuna can cause serious disorders.
Although it is high in protein, tuna lacks sufficient amounts of certain amino acids, mainly taurine, to maintain feline health. There is insufficient calcium to balance the phosphorus; the ratio in canned tuna is 1-to-14.8. This results in bone disease.
Many essential vitamins such as A and most B vitamins are also lacking, Brancato said. A common disease in cats fed a mainstay of canned tuna is steatitis, or yellow fat disease, an inflammation of the fat tissue in the body due to a deficiency of vitamin E.
