Issue 1: I adopted a kitten over a month ago. The cat still seems to be afraid of our home. I kept it in a room for about 3 weeks then occasionally left the door open more frequently over the days after. Later, I moved the food bowl towards the door, then outside the door. The cat doesn't mind me picking him or approaching him in the room but when I do approach it if it's in the living room, it runs away. When I pick it up and bring it to the couch, it seems fine - until it decides to jump of the couch and become "afraid" again.

How do I appoach him gently and without him running away? I;ve kept many cats/kittens in the past but none was ever this scared!

Issue 2: It is 8 months old, is it usual for it to sleep most of the day and be active very little? It seems a tad bit lazy!

Two months ago after taking my dog to the groomer I was told that my dog was infested with ticks. Since my dog is strictly indoors (except for when she goes to the yard when mother nature calls) My dog was raised in my home office and to much of my dismay I started to find the ticks walking everywhere from the walls to the book shelves. (specifically in this room)
I have called a professional exterminator who has come twice to do my entire house in a 15 day period however, I have not been able to get rid fo the ticks. I did not allowed my dog to return to the specific room that has been the heart of the problem. I have ceramic floors throughout the house but I realized that the ticks most be hiding in my file cabinets etc. The exterminator is coming back this week for the third time but I really don't think the treatment is working,. My dog does not have the ticks anymore and I don't know what else to do. The small yard has been treated too. Any suggestion?

My cat is now 5 years old, and we adopted her from Hawaii Humaine Society...when she was just a kitten and they said they found her abandoned in a forest. So I was doing some reading that kitten's learn to purr when their babies because when drinking milk the kitten and mom can't meow during that time so they developed this "language" of purring. So like I said my kitty doesn't purr and could this be because since she was abandoned she maybe never drank milk from her mom and never learned or needed to purr?

I have had my 10 gal tank for about 2 and a half months now. I have 2 fish in it. They aren't as small as guppies,k they are probably double the size. Well I want to take those out and put guppies in. I have tried it once, but they all got sucked into the filter. What could the problem have been? I was thinking the levels of chemicals in the water was too high, so I have been changing 1/10 of the water 2 times a week. The water is alot clearer now. Do you think my tank would handle around 3 guppies if I took the other 2 out? What can I do to it that would help the guppies from getting sucked into the filter.

Did someone open the door to a mental institution or something? All of these sickos on here.
What do you think should be done with all of them, and what do you think should happen to people who maim or torture cats(and other animals)?

I am interested to buy Revolution for my 3 year old cat, Chipmunk to gain more control of Fleas and ear mites. I am interested if anyone can recommend me to buy Revolution on-line in Canada because i don't want to pay any customs duties fees from the border if i order anything from the USA. My Vet wants me to pay over 130 dollars just for him to take a look at my cat and admistrate the Revolution on him which i find it outrage.

Thanks in Advance
Stanley

We have 2 cats--both are indoor only (they're 2 1/2 years old & littermates). The male cat has started sneezing a lot lately and I have no idea why. He also seems to cough, almost daily, but I'm not sure if he is coughing up hairballs or this is a symptom of something else ( no hair comes up when he does this).
The sneezing has been going on for at least a month or 2. And the coughing has been going on since we adopted him at 6 months old from a rescue organization--although it is a lot more frequent now. I gave it time to see if this was something that would pass (the sneezing), but it hasn't. I just assumed that he was coughing up hairballs, but now I am worried about that, too.
Our female cat doesn't have any of these symptoms at all. They both share the same litter box and food & water dish.... So if it were a cold or something, I would assume that the female cat would have caught it by now.

So our kitty is about 15 months old, a Lynx Point Siamese. We were away for a couple of weeks and had friends catsit him and our other kitty. When we came home, he had gotten a little heavier than normal because we'd asked them to keep him inside. (He's normally outside for about 8 hours a day)

Then when we started letting him out again, he started losing weight. He went back to his normal weight, but we've noticed in the last week or so that he seems rather skinny, sometimes within a few hours he appears to go from normal slender, to rather skinny. Yet when we weigh him, there's no perceivable change in weight (our scales measures down to a tenth of a pound).

So we took him to the vet to see if he wasn't too skinny. The vet said he had a fever (Temp 103), and that there'd been some change in the back of his eyes (didn't say what, but asked if his night vision was bad, which it's not at all). He feared that our kitty could have FIP, so we're having a blood test done.

I am doing the "Halloween Horse Show" this year, and I need costume ideas that will involve both me and my loveable horse Rocky. His height is 15.3 hands, if that helps. I was thinking of being a princess and having him be the dragon, but first I thought I'd ask here.

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS? IF SO, LIST THEM! (I'LL BE YOUR FRIEND FOR LIFE!!!)
