The 4 venomous snakes we haev are
Water Moccasin
Rattlesnakes (about 3 varieties that I can think of including Eastern Diamondback, Timber Rattler & Pigmy Rattler)
Copperheads
Coral Snake (Never seen one of these but I think they are very rare where I live)
We have a list of non-venomous snakes as long as your arm, As suggested above, try looking or calling the MS State university College of Forest Resources (which includes the wildlife & fisheries department)

The only snake that makes its home in water in North America is the cottonmouth, but they tend not to be around salt water. If you have access to swamps in your area, that would be the place to start. Getting pictures is a matter of luck and skill combined.
Most snakes are active in early morning or late afternoon and cottonmouths are usually found on the banks or logs/trees at water level.
