Golden retrievers like lots of attention...need it. They don't amuse themselves very well. If you are ignoring them they will do something "bad" as negative attention is better to them than no attention. If you work a lot or cannot give lots of attention then better to get another breed. By bad it means, route through the garbage, take your favorite shoes etc etc.

the hair on their back raises and then go lay down. they don't stay mad for long. i breed them and mine don't get mad they are to happy with my kids and the rest of the family. goldens are not an aggressive dog so if he is mad then something happened to him to make him this way.

Most Golden Retrievers are good nature and do not attack, nor growl. Are you a good owner?

The same as any dog.
it depend on the degree of how mad they are but it ranges from: a low growl and hackles raised to full out fangs bared and snarling.

Raise their hackles, growl, just like any other dog.
