We have a 6-pk born September 8, 3 are already walking and climbing all over the place. 1 isn't far behind, but 2, (the runts) shake and wobbled so bad that they will knock themselves over.
Also, I have started to notice that mama really only wants to feed the bigger 3, she will actually get up and leave about 1/2 the time the little ones nurse. We have had her 2 years, but this is her 2nd litter this year. Any insight would be appericated.

**no i'm not interested in putting her down** she is 10 years old, has always suffered from asthma (almost like a weird coughing/wheezing). she has been on prednisone and theophylline daily but a year ago was diagnosed with diabetes. the prednisone and insulin don't work well with each other and the vet wants me to switch to an inhaler for her, does anyone have any experience with this? also, with the diabetes, she started at 4 units twice daily but has gradually increased to 7 units twice daily, what is everyone else giving their kitties? what is the average insulin dose?

I just bought heartworm medication and flea medication for my two dogs! But i have questions... I heard that you dont need to use flea medication in the winter! Is that true? Why is that? And about the heartworm medication... i know it's meant to PREVENT heartworms! How do i know if they have them or not! In other words, am i wasting the pills to give it to them before i know if they have it or not? Would it kill the heartworms if they did have them? Thanks for the help in advance!

I have a year and a half old Dauchie and she barks constantly! I think it is her favorite pastime! She'll bark at her tail, birds, cars, other dogs, cats, whatever! I think she actually likes the sound of her own bark! Ive tried everything from professional training to all the correction collars! Ive tried ignoring her and yelling at her! I've decided that debarking is my only option left! But i know everyone says its inhumane but i really love her and want to keep her! But we are going to have to move to an apartment soon and i dont want to get evicited! But my question is... is it safe? And what is the difference between the pinch operation and cut operation! Will it cause any long term damage? Please help and ideas would be great!

I dont know how to protect myself from my dog fleas and ticks, I've bath her(my dog) 3 times a week and I clean myself everyday but I still found some fleas on her and I can feel that something moving on my head and it's itching, I think it's must be flea or a tick from her cos she's played with me all the time. I dont know what to do.
I know you might say clearn yourself and your dog more often and I knew that but I'd like to know more if you have any more advice for me, thanks everyone in advance.

i can't afford the price that some shelters charge.but i would love to get a dog as a companion. i have a vet discount card due to my dog i had from before that died of old age which is cheaper than what the shelters charge. so i tried to get one that was going to be put down. i thought i could save his life and be able to get his shots, chip ,food etc which would be cheaper than the $250. they charge. i was told no if i could not pay the dog will die and it was put down. i thinks thats a form of animal cruelty to an extent.do you?

i have a llasa apsa i found about 8 yrs now and from the first night of having her she has ear problems that cause her to scratch them shakes her head all time ,chews at her feet to to the point of them bleeding..scratches her ears til bleeding and at the same time crys like ababy which is tearjerking some times.i have spent thousands at the vet for tests shots a and at times its worse than others, when her ears are bothering her bad they actually feel hot,we have all the medices and drops they help sometimes but she is never comforatable for long periods.i have had a sample of blood sent to a&m for allergy test .the said she was allergic to everything, even allergic to dog dander(dogs)and grass.how can a dog be allergic to dogs!!!!!!!and grass!!!!!!!any ways when i found her she was abused obviously it was horrible, could her abuse be linked and the the scratching and other medical issues or her prevous owners abuse cause damage to her both physical and psyco effects like no bark at all

For example my wifes cat sits on her lap watching tv for hours, when my wife is annoyed by some event the cat is clearly annoyed also! When my wife is amused and laughs at some thing on the tv the cat takes this as a signal to bounce up and down like a pogo stick!!
It certainly cant be following the programme can it??
Is it just mentally deranged? or are other pets like this?

I was petsitting my mother in law's birds while she's on a cruise, and her canary died. I emailed her to let her know about it (couldn't call because she's on a ship) and she hasn't responded yet. Would it be nice for me to clean and break down the cage before she gets home so she doesn't have to do it? Would you like someone to do this for you? or would you prefer to handle it yourself if this happened to you?
I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing!

I have a 9 week old (male) Jack Russell. We brought him home from the local pet store about 4 days ago. He seems very healthy and loves to play, but he's not drinking water. We feed him twice per day and during that time we also give him a puppy milk (some concoction the pet store sold us). But during the rest of the day he doesn't drink any water. When we put a water bowl in his cage he tries to knock out the water. We tried to give him water outside the cage and he does the same thing. We also tried getting him to drink out the water bottle that is similar to the ones in the pet store. We tried giving him regular water and the water with something called Vigorous (taste like sugar and salt mixed), but he won't drink either.

Is this normal or should be be concerned? What can we do to get him to start drinking?
