We have a 6-pk born September 8, 3 are already walking and climbing all over the place. 1 isn't far behind, but 2, (the runts) shake and wobbled so bad that they will knock themselves over.
Also, I have started to notice that mama really only wants to feed the bigger 3, she will actually get up and leave about 1/2 the time the little ones nurse. We have had her 2 years, but this is her 2nd litter this year. Any insight would be appericated.

Try to keep an eye on the little ones. Sometimes mother cats don't always look after their kittens as well as you would like them too. Make sure you plunk the little ones first for feeding. Don't force them, but maybe help them along.

You need to get some kitten replacement milk and a small feeding bottle at the pet store and feed them by hand.

The runts are not getting enough milk. Momma is doing what nature tells her. In the wild, runts are abandoned by the mother and left to starve because only the strong ones have a chance to survive. The domestic cat still has the wild instincts. The runts will die if they cant get enough milk.

Mother cats instinctively know when kittens are too weak (runts). However this in not the wild and the runts will usually survive and be great cats if given the chance by you feeding them.

Let them nurse if they can and then supplement with the kitten replacement milk.

BTW: Momma licks the area where the tail joins the body (on the back) to get them to poop. If momma quits, you need to massage the area and you will get the same result.

Hi Sparkling, I had a mommy dog who did that 2 the runt. She was like your 2 runts, not doing as well has the other ones.Mommy cat know they are weak and probably won't make it.That's way she isn't nursing the 2 runts very will. If you want these 2 kittens to live, you will have to start bottle feeding them. They need special attention to build their strenght up.You will lose alot of sleep, until these baby are strong enough to fight for theirself. That's the only way you will save these 2 runts. Why they are wobbled so bad,is they need help right now.Go to wal-mart and they have the right mommy milk and nursing bottles.Always buy 2 extra bottle just in case.Since the babies are so weak, you need to bottle feed them every 2 hrs. They are being starved to death by their mommy.I have gone threw this before, and i know what i am talking about. You don't have much time.Get want this babies need A.S.A.P. wal-marts here never closes.California...Please don't wait. They will die if you do. A Friend Who Knows...
