I heard lots of books that relate to raining cats/dogs. But do raining cats and dogs do rain like raining cats and dogs? Or it's just a folktale or a legend?

His collar is usually tight and we're afraid he might get hit by a car or run and he won't have his tags. Also, we've tryed a harness but somehow he slips out of that too.

He is a yellow lab - pointer mix, less than two years old. We got him four months ago from a lab rescue shelter. He is sweet as he can be, affectionate, and great to other people and dogs. But he jumps up on me when he is excited and will not stop. Only if I get really mean-looking and say something in a harsh tone does he stop (for about ten seconds). What is a way to get rid of this habit, especially with guests coming over. He's very smart, but plays dumb when he wants. Dog experts, you are needed here. Thanks!

Just visually- could you pick yours out if it was in a flock or group of others of the same species?

I have one male bunny, who's a little under a year. I'm thinking of getting another bunny so he has someone to run around the house with. I don't want a female because I don't want them creating tons of baby bunnies, but he needs a friend! I'm not going to put them in the same cage or anything, but I wanted to know if male bunnies fight alot with one another. Any advice?

I have a year old black lab mix out in his kennel, last night i heard a lot of barking coyotes near my house. Could they some how get in the kennel and hurt my dog? He is in a long kennel. The kennel isn't sitting on cement it is set up in the backyard. But my dad did put 4 metal rods at each corner of the cage and stuck them into the ground so the cage would not move. And there is a tarp over half the top of his cage to keep the rain out and give him shade.

I recently found a kitten in my backyard--he appears to have an eye infection, there is pus behind this creepy looking crust over his eyes. Sometimes he pulls it off and he can see for a little bit, but it always comes back.
I just started rubbing his eyes gently with a damp, warm cotton ball. Will this work if I continue?

P.S. I don't need a bunch of "answers" saying "You shouldn't have taken in that kitten!", I need real answers to help this poor kitten.

I just moved my hermit crabs (all PP's) from a 20 gallon tank to a 40 gallon. The tank has baked unbleached play sand on one side, and the Zoo Med eco earth in the other half. We have some calci-sand sprinkled around the tank, too. There are 2 20 gallon UTH in it. Humidity is at 75%, heat is at 81 degrees farenheit.

My question is this: this tank is fogging over badly (a sign of good humidity, I know), so we can't see the crabs exploring thier new digs. They LOVE the new tank, btw. Anyway, I know there are things that can be used to make windows and mirrors not fog up, like shaving cream, soap, and eye glass cleaner. But... would it be safe to use? It would be used to "wash" the inside, then cleaned off. I just don't think it would be safe, but thought someone might know for sure. Or if there's anything else that you know for certain would work and IS safe.

Any help would be appreciated!

The idea of leaving a puppy in a small crate while I'm at work bothers me; would a playpen be a better option during the day?

My husband and I were on our way home from a trip yesterday and we were driving on a busy major highway, driving the speed limit (65), when an open back pick up truck drove past us going about 80 miles an hour, and there to my horror was a big chocolate lab in the back of the bed. The whole situation has bothered me since yesterday, is it me? am I over the top with feeling so bad about this situation? I was in another state so I did not know the State Police Number-if it were in my state I would have reported it.

My mother in law has 2 white guinea pigs, but no internet access. one of her guines pigs has a quarter sized area on it's fur that is falling out and has a rash under that area. does this sound like ringworm, or has anyone seen this before? it itches so much, she put a sweater on it so it doesn't scratch so much, and has used cortisone cream which didn't help at all. Thank s in advance for the help. Mike
