Worse than that, I have a dog that takes my boots and carries them over and places them beside the gun cabnet every Friday night.

we have labs the can understend a lot of words. We have to spell walk . they figured that out and change it to the wild thing and to make a long story short we now spell that. we spell so many words its sound like a spelling bee- treat, swim, snack, put away the b-a-l-l. this seem to go both ways like time to cut nails or clean thier ears. if I want some help we spell n-a-i-ls etc. or the room comes empty fast. its a lot of fun. I'm amazed that they really pick up or vocab. and movements, moods. They are great pets and friends.

Dogs are like any other intelligent critter (people too), they can learn what words mean and what they enjoy. We have to talk around some things (like we did when our kids were younger) because both of our dogs have learned to spell the key words.

Oh yes definitely. My two German Shepherds knew so many words we had to spell in front of them all the time.
Unfortunately for us, they learned that if we were spelling something, then something good was going on! So it didn't help that much. Damn smart dogs. :)
