My dog died three months ago and i was really close to her and i miss her terribly. Everyone says that getting another dog will help me get through her death. The problem is my parents say that we arent ready to get another dog yet. My dad says that we might be able to get one in the summer since we'll be home and we wont have to leave the puppy home alone while were at school and work. But everytime we talk about what kind of dog we want my mom gets mad and says that we cant get another dog. How can i convince her that getting another dog is a good idea?

1. Can I keep the betta in the bowl it originally came with? I bought it at Petco. The bowl's base area is the size of a regular CD.
2. Can I use tap water for water replacement, or is it required that I buy water treatments? If yes, what kind of water treatments?
3. Someone overfed my betta with 8 pellets 2 days ago. I didn't feed it yesterday. Is it okay that I feed my betta again?
4. So my betta is only living in a bowl... with water. Do I need to add anything to it? It seems bored a lot
5. Have any more tips and suggestions for me?

Thanks for your help

Ok. I just returned from the dog park with 2 of my dogs. One of which happens to be a weimaraner. Some idiot wrote in dog poop on my winshield WHY CROP TAILS?? probably cuz my weimaraner has a cropped tail. Well, I adopted her from a shelter, and that is the way she came. Why would anyone be such a jerk? I do not agree with the whole crop thing either, but I would never do something as childish as that. This person (people) do not even know me or the situation with my dog. Some nice other dog walkers helped me clean off the window enough to drive home. This gives people who fight for animal rights a very very bad name. If they were that concerned, why not have the guts to come and ask me???????

I have six indoor cats--four females and two males. I had a Female Calico, my Fiancee brought in his four, three being littermates, and together we adopted a female kitten.

My girl, Katy Jane, has recently started bopping our large male tabby on his head with her paw.

She will be be walking past him, stop, bop, and continue on as if nothing happened. He will just sit and stare at her as if she is crazy.

Occasionaly she will make a angry cat sound as she does so, but not often. She never hurts him, and other than the bop, does not attack. It is as if she is reminding him Who She Is.

He is the only one of our cats she treats like this.

Is she Alpha, and sees him as a threat to her title and thus she has to keep him subdued???

or does she just have something against the Tabby boy, or both????

Any help with this is appreciated.

About a year ago, my dog became paralysed from the legs. We had been planning to breed her with my Sisters dog. then this horrible thing happened. I am clueless wether or not to mate her anymore. She is four years old by the way. I am aware that she may have diificulties during birth, but id like to hear all off you guys's opinions. thanks for your time.

My horse is very crazy. She pins her ears back and tries to bite people. She has a baby and she is trying to do the same thing. What can I do to fix it? Any tips or anything would be very helpful.

There is a dead dog laying beside the road a few doors down. It has been there a few days and is stinking! Whose responsibility is it to pick it up...the owner of the dog...my neighbor...the police...the mayor? The small town where I live does not have animal control. Please, could someone let me know who should be cleaning this up?

We give her fruits and veggies as well as grape vines and pear sticks to chew. She also has plenty of toys which she plays with. I think the buttons are just a curiosity, she likes the colors, the feel and the sound. Surely this is not a new problem for bird owners. What do you do in a loving way? The guy that said kill her is a nut who shouldn't be on this forum.

I have a community of three female bettas who have lived in relative harmony for almost a year but now I have to move to a place where I will have much less room. I'm going to have to downsize if I want to keep them. What is the absolute minimum tank size I can put them in and still keep my girls happy?

I have a 29 gallon tank and I am sick of freshwater aquariums so I want to take a shot at a saltwater aquarium. I really like the coral reefs so I want to make it like that. Where should I ever start. Links would be nice to. Thank you!
