We give her fruits and veggies as well as grape vines and pear sticks to chew. She also has plenty of toys which she plays with. I think the buttons are just a curiosity, she likes the colors, the feel and the sound. Surely this is not a new problem for bird owners. What do you do in a loving way? The guy that said kill her is a nut who shouldn't be on this forum.

What are you asking? There's no question here....!!

OK...found your previous post. Would have made more sense if you added details to it.

A grey is a lot like a 2-year-old child who doesn't understand that wall outlets or cleaning fluids are dangerous. Rather than put temptation in front of her and then punish her for succumbing, avoid temptation. In the same way that you would child-proof your house, don't wear buttons while holding the bird.

I wear reading glasses on a chain. I have to remember to remove them when I take up my Grey (or my cockatoo) after way too many broken chains! It's pointless to punish them - they are attracted to playthings like this. Curiosity goes along with keen intelligence. Just try to avoid putting her in situations where she will get into mischief!

the best way is to try and distract it with something else...like food or another toy. You can also train her like a child that when it does mess with the buttons---put it back in the cage and step away---giving a learned behavior of you want to stay out---don't mess with buttons. But like any child---any thing new and different they want to mess with....good luck!

Both of my birds like to chew my buttons and will pop them off.. They both like to chew holes in my shirt as well. So I have a shirt for everyday of the week to wear after I get home that they can chew up if they want.

All normal for your bird to chew. Mine cliped off the back end of my glasses frames in one bite. Watch for that one.. That cost.
