She will clean other cats butts, but not her own, so i know she knows how to clean them. Why won't she clean her own. If i can smell it, she can smell it!

i have a cat like this...you just need to clean her butt for her a couple of times with a warm washcloth and this will promote her to do it herself because trust me she wont enjoy you to do it....

Why are you smelling your cats butt? Are you crazy? The cat will eventually clean itself. It might seem like along time to you. Maybe the cat cleans itself when you aren't around. I used to think that my cats didn't clean themselves but they do and you don't have to cheek. That's gross!!!!!! Why is your cat cleaning other cats butts? They can clean it themselves can't they? Just leave all the cats butts alone. If you really think that there is a problem then call the vets and tell them about it then they can tell you what to do next.

It stinks because she poops out of it.
Is she a long hair cat? Some cats have a problem cleaning themselves if they have it stuck in their fur.

Well, first look at the way cats clean themselves; they lick! Can you blame her for not wanting to go there? Try washing your cat. Mine get baths regularly (not as regularly as they should because it's not an easy job).

while I want to give a smart answer like she poops out of that hole that is why it stinks...anyway....if it is that bad and bothers you...wipe it with pet wipes...baby wipes!

try getting baby wipes and cleaning her with those.
and don't feed her any fishy type of cat food. dry is best. when cats eat canned food, they tend to be a bit stinkier.

Is she overweight?
Fat cats can't reach.......... you will have to take a warm cloth and clean it for her periodically.
