We found a cat living on our porch in 105 degree heat. He looked thin so I fed him and gave him water. He is not neutered and overall looks healthy on the outside he is very friendly and is not wearing a collar. I have a small child and I am trying to protect our health, but make sure this animal gets the proper care.

HELP! My cat is crazy. I have bought him tons of toys to play with, yet he insists on tearing up everything in my house. He gets in the trash, climbs on shelves and breaks my picture frames, chews on cords, he even has eaten my homework before (no joke, he chewed it to pieces). I have tried using a spray bottle to squirt him when he is messing up things, but he goes right back to it. Is there any way to keep him from being so destructive?

I have a black and white domestic long hair- she's the cutest thing and already has a very sweet personality. Just curious about the whole show cat thing.

I'm watching my friends cat for a week. She came over and got her settled in and she seemed fine. This morning she hisses at the walls and even bit through my hand. I'm trying to give her time to explore and get used to things but she decided that it would be better to hide in a corner and hiss at any movement or noise. She is in the same room as her cat box but she refused to get out of the corner to poop. How can I speed up the comforting enough that she'll eat and go in her litter box? I don't care about the long run, I don't need her to want to be patted or touched and I'm not having guests over. Any suggestions?

We adopted a 5 or 6 month old Pointer/Lab mix. He's now probably about 7 months.. a very good dog, good with the kids, a bit exciteable at times as expected...and has been OK (not great) with going into his crate when we're out of the house for a couple of hours each to go shopping or whatever. But this morning, my wife called me and said she couldn't move the dog, who was on the floor in another room...and ended up having to put the leash on him and drag/coax him outside, with no chace of manipulating him into his crate. I suspect he wasn't crate trained before we adopted him. He was given to the humane society a couple of weeks before we got him in early July. My question is, although I've been online, looking for a 'plan of action' regarding crate training, almost all of the one's I've come across talk about puppies and how to make them comfortable, etc.. and how it's good for housebreaking and so forth (our dog is housebroken already). Any suggestions would be appreciated.thx

I am so sick of my bf messing with my cat!! My cat is afraid of him. Everytime he's home my cat runs under the table! I feel so bad for him. I constantly yell at my bf to leave him alone and he thinks it is a joke! How do I get him to realize it's not. Is it weird to break up with your bf because he won't respect your wishes to be nice to your pet?

My Australian Shepherd keeps getting in my trash while I'm away. I've thought about getting a trash can with a lid, but she's very strong, not to mention smart. I really think she's doing this because she's angry with me for being away. (She gets PLENTY of dog food.) I've also thought about spraying some ammonia in the trash to deter her. Do you think this will work? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

I think that the Chow has gotten a bad name. I have been raised around chows all my life and I have never expericenced this meaness that a lot of people talk about. Righ now my fiance and I have a 9 month old chow that is just as sweet as she can be. She is great with children, she does not get aggressive and she loves to play. I think if you are a good owner and you are expericenced in training there is no reason why your Chow swhould be mean.
