The first thing you need to do is get it to gain your trust.
So get a treat that you know it likes(millet sprays).
& keep it in your hand.
place your hand in the cage & just leave it there weather you are sitting watching T.V. just keep ur hand with the treat in the cage.
You will find that after sometime it will snatch the treat out of your hand. do not think this means you have gained it's trust.
You must continue to do this for a few weeks.
By then it should be taking it's time eating even if your holding the treat it may eat it while standing on your hand.
by this time you have some trust from the budgie.
the next thing to do is very slowly edge your hand closer to the bird then very gently push against his/her chest you may find it climbs on your finger but if it doesn't repeat the first step of placing your hand in the cage.
by now u have gained quite alot of trust in your budgie.
You can now practice taking it out of the cage.
It will most probably be attatched to it's cage so when it gets tired it will fly back to the cage for food & water.
You now just have to pay attention to ur budgie so your friendship & trust gets greater & greater.
This is recommended with 1 budgie but you can try it with 2 but then there is less chance since they are companions where on the other hand you and your budgie are companions.
Only feed your bird the correct food for budgies!!

talk to it softly and frequently to get him comfortable with you and realize that your not a threat. You have to realize that in a petshop the bird probably did not get a lot of contact with people and the contact it did get probablt was not positive. So being friends with a person is a completely foreign concept to him.
It will take a lot of time and patience but if you keep it up he will eventually become more comfortable around you.
Are it's wings clipped? You should have it's wings clipped for a while when you first bring it home, after it gets used to you you can let them grow out.
Also after the bird gets used to you, you should consider getting another one so that he has company. Remeber, budgies are social flock animals and will get lonely and depressed without constant companionship and interaction.

properly I surely have an english budgie... i have been given her the day previous adn she is particularly tame... at the moment i had her on my shoulder lots of the day around the domicile as i changed into strolling round and each thing... she likes to be puppy and provides me kisses plenty... i'm able to kiss her and she or he doesnt ever freak out lol... she had a bath with me this morning... i could say shes incredibly tame lol she preens my "feathers" (hair) even as she's on my shoulder and hardly tries tto fly away. after I deliver her to her cage she'd fairly proceed to exist my finger. that being reported english budgies have a tendency to be better tame often yet a lot less playful. perchance clip their wings? its a painless procedure if carried out precise and makes it as a way to't fly away... commonly even as 2 birds are saved jointly its tougher to tame them, because they already have a chum and dont sense the will for a enormous one... perhaps seperate them and attempt it? also convinced, women human beings have a tendency to be better aggressive than the adult males... perchance its an intuition from even as they want to guard their children?

Patience. Work with him daily. You're lucky he's young, he will eventually get used to you putting your hand in his cage. Then slowly and consistantly put your hand toward him. It may take weeks, but eventually he will step on your finger. Too bad he wasn't hand raised. Budgies are great little birds. Once you win his trust don't get another bird. They tend to ignore you if another bird is around. Good luck!!
