Honestly, as much as they want - especially during the day. Cats are actually nocturnal naturally so while we are awake most cats sleep. If it seems like your cat sleeps all the time it is probably roaming around the house at night while you are in bed. Stay up late and see if it will play with you around 10pm. If it won't play late, or this is a change in habits (aside from going from kitten to adult) - get to the vet. But as a ball park kittens can sleep for about 22 hours a day! (adults often less)

Sleeping is a cats way of life....they sleep when needed and don't care who objects. Most cats deal with the people they own in their own wonderful way.Cats are so lovingly independent. A kitten and an older cat sleep more than a teen aged cat just like in people.

I don't know but my cats sleep all the time.. they play for about an hour then sleep for two then do it again....I would love to be a cat and sleep all day...

My mom read a magazine article stating that most cats sleep 16 hours a day.

I once heard up to 18 hours everyday! I have two cats, twin boys. One sleeps A LOT and the other one, not so much.

as much as they want. that's their life. cats live to sleep. but the total average of how long cats sleep is about 16-18 hours a day. LUCKY THINGS!!!!!!!! =^-^=
