My eggs came first this morning with bacon. My chicken will come this evening with mashed potatoes and gravy.

I guess the egg comes first.

The egg had to come first...During the process of evolution, over 1000s of years, as reptiles changed to become avian, the egg would have been layed with certain mutations from its predecessor. This egg, no matter when it was layed, would have grown up to be the first chicken. The first chickens parents would not have been chickens at all, but they would have been closely related to chickens. Of course, if you take the creationist stance, it could have been either.

the egg came first.

because the genetic code of an individual doesn't change during his life... therefore the 1st chicken was the 1st chicken egg too (and therefore the egg came 1st)

plus, there were fish eggs and dinosaure eggs WAY before chickens came.

The chicken came first. The Bible tells us that God made the fowls of the air, not the eggs of the nest.

the chicken and the egg are lying in bed all exhausted.... the chicken smokes a cigarette, looks content, the egg is grumpy and says: "at least we settled that question once and for all"
