the rabbit was given to me by a friend who couldnt take care of the rabbit anymore because the place that he moved to didnt accept animals. Me and my family feel that it is too much responsibility to take care of the rabbit and our house doesnt have enough space for the rabbit to walk around more freely. the biggest place that it can walk around is in my basement, but i would have to rabbit proof everything, and supervise the rabbit and i dont have the time. I also dont want to run the risk of the rabbit chewing on cables. i feel that it should belong to someone with a rabbit sanctuary or someone who is more determined to take good care of it. Me and my family arent really pet people since we never thought about getting a pet and were never prepared to care for a rabbit.

Okay, this is probably a really dumb question, but here it goes. Is it okay for me to put my hand in tank with fish inside? Do I need to wash hand?? This is a freshwater tank (the first I've ever had) and I don't want to kill fish, but one of the small plastic plants that was in tank came loose and was floating around. The fish seemed disturbed by this, so I picked it out, but I want to put it back in...I know that with saltwater tanks you cannot just stick your hand in, is this okay for freshwater??? Any help is much appreciated.

The vet says she has all her adult teeth. She has chew toys. Lots of them. She chews rawhide and real bones from Petsmart. She is kept in a crate while we are away. She just started this chewing on furniture. this happens when we are there. She has good dog food, is exercised and well fed. Will buy Sour Apple spray tomorrow although I don't have high hopes. (the ingredients are simple to put together.) I do tell her no , loudly, when she bites something she shouldnt and give her her stuff instead. Help!

I have had my cat for 7 years. We will be moving into a brand new home. The Human Society will not take her and no one else will. She is a sweet cat, but can be nasty (leaves evidence) even though she is litter trained. I have 2 small children and have to keep her shut up in the back of the house with the litter box and cat food. What do I do?

I bought 5 fancy male guppies about a week ago, but one of them has developed an very heavy tummy. So heavy that you can see the top portion of his back has a slight hump, not to mention that is seems at times the other fish chase it around more, like they are picking on him... I dont think its possible that I am overfeeding because I only feed twice a day in a pinch a fancy guppy fish food, but does anyone have any suggestions? If it is a female, how long is her gestation period and what do I do once they hatch? Please help; I;d truly appreciate it!!! THANK YOU!

Is there a website I can visit where I can see pictures of North American birds and hear their songs?
I would like to be able to identify them by sound.

how come people are so obsessed with BUYING designer puppies when they can go to the shelter and get a homeless dog and save a life for under 75 bucks....that fee usually covers vaccinations, neuter/spay surgery, and adoption fees??! shelters usually have all kinds of puppies that need homes, why not go to the shelter and save a life rather than spending hundreds of dollars on a dog that has the same four legs and and cute nose that a homeless dog has!?

Something happened today that freaked me out. I went to the convenient store and parked next to a van. I paid no attention to it. As I got out of my car, I heard a noise. I turned my head to the side...a HUGE dog stuck its head out of the van window, about 2 feet out the window, BIG TEETH, and what I perceived to be in an aggressive state (perhaps trying to protect the van?). He was inches from my face. I almost wet myself and ran into the store. When I left the store, the van and dog were still there. I had to enter my car from the passenger side. I'm not a dog owner (see my picture), but isn't there a way to stop this from happening? I do not know if he would have attacked, but showing his teeth and growling, to me, was not a good sign. He could have easily bitten me in the face had I not seen him in time. Because of his size, he could not have gotten through the window, but his head & neck could. I'm not being a woos, but it bothers me. It's just an accident waiting to happen.

Mitty, my cat won't drink from her bowl and will gladly drink when I have the faucet on in the bathroom sink. When I' at work, where does she drink from?

Ok, I have no idea what I'm doing...I recently inherited a 1 1/2 yr old Nanday Conure. He's bitting every time I touch him in his cage, and I don't mind, but I'm afraid to get him out because I don't think his wings have ever been trimmed, and added to the fact he's...scared, I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? I really need to do this, because I just love Maxy (he's so cute!). Thanks.

This isn't really a question...it's just a reminder. Now that summer and hot weather is here, if your cat (or other pet) goes outdoors, please remember to furnish it with lots of water. And please remember not to leave them in your car for any amount of time. The temperatures inside a closed car are deadly.

My two cats are taking swimming lessons this summer. They didn't do very well last year when I took them to tap dancing lessons, so I thought I'd try something different.
