Go to the pound. There are plenty of puppies there that need a good home.

I'd really suggest that you go to your local animal shelter and look for a puppy. You'll get to see quite a few and interact with them and get to know something about the dog's personality. Usually the shelters also have had the dog looked at by a vet and you can be assured that the pup is healthy and is up to date for shots.

I volunteer at a shelter and the place makes sure that the dogs who are adopted from it are ready to be good pets and that the owner that is adopting them has a very good idea of what owning that dog will be like. The shelter wants the relationship to be a lasting one.

Just get a mutt. They live longer, last longer and will probably love you longer.

But if you really don't want a lovable mixture...

here's a fact for you to consider, the dog you get at the pound may very will be a pure breed since most of the dogs (around 60 to 70 %) in the pound actually are.

Save some money and spare the hand of death.

Find a nice mutt at your local animal shelter. They are less likely to have genetic or personality defects like many purebreds, plus you will be giving a much-needed home to an otherwise doomed puppy. If you really insist on a purebred, find a reputable breeder rather than buying from a puppy farm. Try shelties. They are small, friendly, & easy 2 train, but bark a lot.

There are so many puppies and dogs in the pounds and listed in the papers The best dogs in the world are mutts. They have all of the good qualities of different purebreds, without any of the inbreeding bad stuff. Plus, you can't get cheaper than "free to a good home"! Whatever you decide on, GET IT FIXED!!!

Go to the pound and ask them if they have any small breed dog.... If they don't ask them if they can keep an eye open for one that you would like to get a small dog! They will take your name and number and give you a call when they get one in!!!! If you don't mind getting an older small dog you have a better chance of getting dog on the spot!!!!! The money you save can be used for immunization and doggy treats, toys, bed, beauty treatments, leash, dish, water reservoir, food and all the things that will make you and your new dog happy!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to the animal shelter or animal control (dog pound). For about $60-$80, you can save a dog or puppy from death row, and that dog will have all it's shots, be parasite free and be spayed/neutered.

You will have saved a life, too. It's a good feeling and you will get a very good animal.

DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS PETS DIE.

you should go to the shelter and adopt a dog that is otherwise going to be put to sleep because he doesnt have a home. color and breed shouldnt matter as long as the temperment is good and he/she is is needing a loving home. breeder's wont stop breeding and shelters wont stop needing our help. 20 million puppies and kittens are put to sleep every year because they have no home. think about all those babies that have to die because the only thing they did worong was be born into an over populated world.
PLEASE ADOPT A HOMELESS DOG.

If you go online for breeders, you can probably get an adorable puppy that fits your needs. A friend of ours just got the cutest dog and she is a full breed with papers for $300. There were several to choose from and they show pictures.

Go to a non-kill shelter and adopt. Older dogs make excellent pets and so do shelter animals and sometimes you can find pure breeds there. Also let the dog pick you, look for a dog that comes to you and connects with you. They will dive you year of love.

Just go to the Humane Society and look at the dogs there. They are cheaper, and they need a good home. You might fine a great pet and save a life, too.
