Why would your cat be near a lawn mower anyway? Keep the cat in the house when the lawn is being mowed. Many animals have different fears. My dog used to hate the sound of the microwave and any loud alarm type things such as tornado warning sirens. I think the sounds just hurt his ears.

Seriously?!??! Hmm, why would a cat be afraid of a lawn mower? It's this huge machine that makes horrible noise. Not so much phobia as common sense!!

your cat should be afraid of the lawn mower.... but i know what you mean... my cats used to run and hide under the shed all day.. just dont make a big thing about it. kind of put them a good distance away and never make a move toward them with the mower.. you could also stop and pet them in the middle of the job once in a while ??? if its a neighbores mower you are talking about , just put the cat on your lap and pet her without making a big thing about it ... act like nothing is going on... kinda take her mind off it.

I don't think it's truly a phobia, considering the noise mowers make and the stench they produce. IPersonally, I disappear when my husband even pulls ours out of the garage because I know what's coming. I believe that cats do as well.

Its not a phobia, because a lawn mower can kill her. My cat is afriad of the vacuum (its the noise).

That's a phobia that you don't want to cure in a cat unless you want the poor thing to die!
