I went out today to see a baby fawn with my dog. The dog was just standing, watching over it in a motherly way, but I put my dog in and left the deer alone, hoping that the mother would come back for it. I haven't disturbed it all day, but the mother hasn't come back yet. The sun is setting and it's getting cold outside. I'm afraid that it will either freeze to death or starve. Should I take it in and feed it some milk replacement? I have lamb milk replacement. I know the best thing would be for the mother to come back and get it, but I don't know if anyone will come back for it. It's been almost seven hours and it's getting cold outside. What should I do?
