ok i wanna buy 2 hamsters..both dwarf and at the same time. when i bring them home and put them in the cage would they get along or fight?

My beta is about 1 year old. He is now only wanting to stay on the bottom of the tank. He is in 1 gallon tank, his water his changed only once a week. He has always been happy, and now I believe he is coming close to his end. Please advise. NO BS Please !
