I do think that they are cute, and im sure you can search for pictures online to see a photo, on the yahoo search you can search under pictures only instead of a web search. As far as breeds go .... some personality traits, physical problems ect, are prone to certain breeds, when mixing breeds im sure it is possible to make things better or worse depending on what pure breeds are being mixed. Before purchasing any mixed purebreed i would do research on both breeds in question and find out as much info as possible about the parents. It is possible for the dog to have common health problems for both breeds, or for the mix to counteract health problems. Larger breed dogs are in general more prone to having hip dysplasia in general regardless of breed type. Some Breeders will work hard to improve the bloodlines of their dogs and will breed only healthy dogs that have been certified by vets to Not have certain known problems for their breed type. For example In classified adds you will sometimes see Golden retrievers listed as 200-250 $. And then you will see one for a thousand dollars but they are heart/hip/elbow certified. THis type of golden breed with another high class lab retriever may not have problems but also keep in mind the everyday breeders who dont certifiy. also labs and goldies both have these common health problems skin allergies, epilepsy, eye diseases, thyroid problems, cataracts and hip dysplasia. Poodles are prone to susceptible to epilepsy and gastric torsion. These are all wonderful breeds that are usually great dogs, great with children, and smart. My best sujestion is do your research if your thinking of buy, and get to know your breeder, also if you are looking at mixed breeds you might also want to try your local pound/human society you might fall in love with a wonderful mixed breed their too :)

The only real Labradoodles and Goldendoodles that breed true come from a breeder in Australia who spent many years selectively breeding and culling the pups who didn't turn out right. The ones bred in America are just cross-bred mutts that mostly all shed. Why would you want to pay big bucks for a mutt? If you really need a dog that doesn't shed, get a purebred so that you know exactly what to expect. A toy, mini, or standard Poodle won't shed along with many of the other breeds that need grooming.

I think with a purebreed, you have more of an idea of the breed's traits, behavior, problems, etc. I would never go any other way, personally. With a mix breed, you really never know what you are getting. Not that mixed breeds are bad, but I don't see why people feel the need to mix breeds. (Maybe at one point a long time ago that is how we got the breeds that there are today.) But I think it is ridiculous these labradoodles, etc. as they are being sold for a bunch of money, are not AKC registered, and are just that- a MIXED breed.

Anything with hair sheds. Your allergies arent effected by the shedding hair but from the amount of dander the dog has.
The breeds are cute since dogs are cute, There is nothing that makes the breed stand above any other breed. When you mix breeds you have a mutt. Even if both parents are pure-bred, the puppies are mutts.

i think the original breeds look alot better because the labradoodles and the goldendoodles look too curly and the curlyness should be left up to the poodle not the golden retriever or the labrador my aunt has toy poodles and i don't think they shed a hole lot but i think its because she brushes them alot but the origanals are better

To answer the shedding question. A dog has hair it sheds. More than others. But I don't like when people begin to cross breed animals. Like a lab and a poodle...come on now!

I have seen a goldendoodle. It looked like a black golden retriever. Or a real hairy black lab. Supposedly they don't shed, and don't have the aggressive traits of the poodle. The one I meet was real nice but I wouldn't say it was real cute. If it were me, I would go with a yellow lab.

Give me a poodle any day over a mixed breed. The problem with mixing breeds is that you can never tell what health problems will pop up in the pups or their offspring. Each breed of dog have their own health problems and to mix these dogs only increases the possibilities of one or more of these health problems to show up somewhere without warning!!!

Yes they do shed and they are NOT hypoallergenic. Purebreds are better. Labs,Goldens, and Poodles all have their own health concerns. A LabXPoodle will have the health concerns of BOTH breeds. Who wants that. Isn't one set enough. We really do not need more designer mutts.

I like the goldendoodle. They are very nice looking. Labradoodles tend to have ungly, wirely hair. Goldens make wonerful pets. But expect to pay about 1200.00-2500.00 for one..It's insane..
