I have a cat named Fancy and what I love so much about her is that she's very protective of my toddler, she will run to him if she hears him cry and if I'm not in the same room she will go in the room where am at and start to meow (which is one of the only times she meows). Even when my son pulls her tails or slaps her around not once has she hissed or scratch him.
She seems to know my mood when I'm mad she hides under the bed and when I'm down she curls up to me and starts to purr.
We are truly best to have her in our family, I just wish she would stop trying to catch the fishes in the fish tank...lol.

I wish I could have pets again. I like them.
Last year I wanted a cat but was refused because cats have to be tagged and kept in the house all day all year round. In my opinion that was the most stupid thing I experienced. I have a house, garden and thought that it would be no problem. The doors are always open in the summer. Am in Toronto.
Although lots of people around me have cats and let them out, there are fines for that and I have heard that people could report you.
I used to live in Britain before and it was the exact opposite at a time. I lived in a ground flat with French windows opening into a park but was refused a cat unless I installed a cat trap. To let the cat out !!! I was renting so could not do that.
Talk about a completely different mentality !!
Sure, I could have lied and gotten the cat anyway.......to me a cat inside ??? That is way too cruel. Poor thing ! Supposed to look through the window at plants, trees, and all wildlife on a special tool made for cats !
I am not answering your question......just giving out info I suppose.:-)

My dog Tucker, is an abused dog. e is my 5th Doberman & he is a real gem. He is rarely in a bad mood, always happy to see me, even if I have only been gone 5 seconds, loves to cuddle & give kisses. He never criticizes what I have to say, & pays attemtion no matter what the subject. H loves to play rough, but can be very gentle when giving me his paw.
Then, he reminds me that God does have a sense fo humor.
There are countless ways that I am crazy for this best friend!!

I love everything about my girls, they are beautiful, affectionate, not too big for apartment living, don't need to be walked like a dog, they are very clean and smart. Cats are not constanly at your feet wanting attention and being a pest, they give me time for myself and when I want to play with them, they respond, sometimes, because
If you want someone who will bring you the paper without first tearing it apart to remove the sports section.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone willing to make a fool of himself simply over the joy of seeing you.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never says its not quite as good as his mother made it.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores.
Buy a dog.
If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually.
Buy a dog.
But, on the other hand, If you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness...
Then.................
Buy a cat!

I found my cat at the S.P.C.A. His previous owners didn't want him because he was black and white and he shed! He is a fantastic pet because I have a son (who was 2 when we got him, he's 4 now..) and you can do whatever you want to him and he will never scratch or bite - with the exception of having his tail pulled. But we taught him how to be gentle with Nifty and our son loves picking him up and playing with him! He sheds alot but HE IS family and when we come home...he's the first to greet us at the door!

Love my cat because you don't always have to entertain them. When they want something they come get you. They don't slobber all over you when the lick you either. She is soft and fluffy like a cottonball that is why I named her cottonball. It's fun to watch her chase the flys that come in by accident when my kids leave the door open to long. She cleans up after herself goes in her box, what more could you ask for.

I love when my cat hides behind my shoes waiting to jump when I am dangling a string. It is as if I can't see her! Then she wiggles her back legs when she is almost ready to pounce.... So cute!
