In addition to it's still formidable nuclear arsenal and it's recent actions toward it's ex-Soviet satellite countries? Will the EU's dependence on it's oil be it's downfall? Also, Putin's maneuvering to stay in power indefinitely? I would like to hear comments from ex-soviet countries as well!

as an Englishman and owner of many US based companies I feel I must ask this.
I have recently noticed many Americans(on this site) have been nasty towards me and they have even questioned my business credentials.
In stark contrast, the Americans who I own, look upon me as a great leader.
I wonder if the Americans(on this site)are perhaps a little jealous of the Americans I own?

First off, I don't want people to die and to suffer, but I am fascinated by the fires in San Diego. I know when you get down to it, people have been hurt and many more have been evacuated and don't know if their homes are gone. But, when you ignore those things, this fire is fascinating. It's not something I have experienced before (I was in the bay area when the Cedar Fires happened) and I find myself sort of rooting for the fire. Maybe it's an underdog sort of thing; while the fire is massive, it's a foregone conclusion that at some point in the future, it will be put out. I am sure the fact that none of my friends and family (or myself) are threatened allows me to ignore the seriousness of the situation, but what do you think this is about. Why do I keep checking the fire maps to see if the fire has gotten bigger?

I have noticed that many people using this site have become very childish. It has become tit for tat and quite frankly I am bored with it.
I own nearly 40,000 Americans and I am one of the worlds richest business magnates-should i have to put up with this?.

Enviromentalists have fought brush clearing and other infrastructure improvements to California. Their myopic opposition to physical improvements to help people is responsible for much of the damage. Don't try to point the finger elsewhere, this calls for a major mea culpa!

Isn't it weird how we allow people to live in gutters yet we are treating pets like people?

SEE THIS REPORT BELOW

These pets, especially cats and dogs, are also increasingly considered to be an essential part of a family, with U.S. pet owners spending more time and money (estimated at nearly $41 billion in 2007) on the health and happiness of their pets in recent years. Things that would once have seemed extravagant—doggy daycares, pet cemeteries, and an expanding array of pet surgeries and treatments—are now as common as, well, the family dog.

I can not get my head around why these two small boys were out alone, in the dark, running through a small forest to get to a motorway, which they attempted to run across. What a tragedy.

I am pretty sure they were warned not to go near a motorway, and I don't suppose the parents knew they were going to attempt to run across, but you should not let kids of that age roam around it the daylight on their own!

Please note that although I am circling the neglect issue of the above case, this is not a McCann question.

Kate McCann thinks Madeleine is being held somewhere in someone's house - why no plea to the abductor?

Was this interview just more spin to draw attention away from the fact that the PJ inspectors are ready to touch down in the UK.

Why on earth would you go to the trouble of telling the world how hard it is for you being without your daughter, yet NOT ask the person who has her to GIVE HER BACK?

Don't you think this is a wasted opportunity??

Oh dear, seems like Gerry shot himself in the foot by doing the interview. I bet Clarence gets it in the neck today. Gerry didn't like the "drugging " question and almost stormed out ...again.And almost 70% of callers in the poll thought the pair were lying.

"McCann family reverse story over break-in 'evidence' -- Irish Independent

THE spokesman for the family of Madeleine McCann has reversed a statement made in the early days of the search for the missing child.

Speaking to RTE's 'Prime Time', Clarence Mitchell said she could "easily" have been kidnapped by an abductor who did not leave the trail of a break-in.

However, in the early part of the hunt, friends and family members told journalists that the shutter on the apartment where the McCanns were staying had been broken."

Is this all spin in full steam ahead.

We all know those shutters were JEMMIED - it's become part of everybody's vocabulary.

Now the shutters weren't jemmied - what is going on?

Clarence Mitchell stated today that this is private line for the clients McCann. Private investigators will pass on information to the clients and they will decide if this will go to the authorities or not.
Is this perverting the course of justice for those EU callers who pass on vital information to a private hotline instead of the police because they dont understand or are being misled by the McCann campaign?

Is a local rate number. just like our 0845 numbers in the UK.

LOCAL RATE.

Obviously it's an international number so from the UK would cost more than 5p per minute if you don't have a wireless internet connection with free internationals...

Also, it is a number for Spainish, Portuguese & North Africans to call locally. If Madeleine was spotted in say, Belgium, I am sure the person reporting it would not be worried about 5pence a minute. Think about it.. would 5pence a minute bother you if you saw Maddy?

dont the McCanns RISK going to jail, and reveal every shred of truth and evidence they and the tapas lot know. Surely it would be more beneficial to their cause and get more public support for revealing the truth. Let the PJ do whatever they want but its more important for them to reveal the truth. The search for Maddie would continue and the case would be ongoing. At least it would prove they are innocent and have the balls to risk their liberty to conclude Maddies fate.

"i mean as a beautiful person" and "i know Madeleine was very happy with her life", Kate McCann talking about her daughter, sounds to me the kind of words more likely used to describe an adult or young adult not a child of Madeleine's years.

1)Big names approached the McCanns but they chose this rather obscure channel instead, because they believe it will reach the kind of audience they want. ( advised by PI not Mitchell)

The couple gave the interview to Antena 3 instead of some of the big names who have approached them, including Oprah Winfrey, the American broadcaster, because of sightings of the little girl nearby and because they believe, according to heir spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, it is where Madeleine is "most likely to be".
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/10/25/nmaddy125.xml

2)The McCanns have admitted for the first time that they hired private investigators.
3)During they interview they are adamant that they” believe that their fiends are innocent 100%”

http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7060000/newsid_7061000/7061072.stm?bw=bb&mp=rm&asb=1&news=1

I am speculating that the McCanns have some evidence gathered by private investigators that Madeleine is in that region and the appeal is directed to the abductor/s and/or their relatives and accomplice who may be fearful of contacting the police directly.

When the interview was finished Gerry turned to Kate and said "Don't say anything else until they take your microphone off" This wasn't shown on UK television. What was he so worried about, that Kate might drop them in it by saying something that wasn't rehersed. On the Spanish propgramme 360 º after the interview it was analysed by experts in body language etc and all agreed that every movement was controlled and the rehearsed. Kate had obviously been told to look at the camera, something that she hadn't done until now and to cry, which she tried her hardest to do but she only managed to squeeze out one tear. They have dumped Cuddle Cat, that prop used shamelessly by Kate up to now. The overall impression taken by the Spanish audience so far is that they are GUILTY,GUILTY,GUILTY.
