Yes Agree Julia that the Team McCann are running a parallel investigation while they are prime suspects in the case. This makes a mockery of the legal and judicial process - that in my opinion could pervert the course of justice. Furthermore, their strategic corporatized policing (you call it vigilanty but this is harsh) erodes common decency and public good for future parents of missing children.

The Portuguese police seem not to agree that the phone line "encourage[s] vigilantism" since they are reported to have given it their backing.
You reveal your true colours by the last part of your question.
If you were genuinely concerned about Madeleine (as so many McCann haters persist in claiming) you would be asking what ordinary people can do to help find out what has happened to Madeleine instead of wishing more misery on her parents who, if you are wrong about them, are already suffering more misery than any decent person would wish on anyone.

i agree, they do seem to think they are a law of their own..you know what bugs me is why have they set a seperate (paying ) phone line,,, forgive me if iam wrong but i thought you could phone the police direct for FREE.
