On the official Find Madeleine website, the Crimestoppers and Portuguese police telephone numbers have been removed from the front page and replaced with the new hotline number.

Is this the right thing to be doing in order to receive information about Madeleine.

Your thoughts....

Is it the norm for ~suspects~ to be gathering information then deciding whether to forward that information to the police?

Well actually I wonder if the Spanish police have approved it as things seem to be concentrating on Spain. The TV interviews were in Spain. Why all of sudden Spain?
Because just supposing somebody actually reports something on this line, what happens then, which police force investigates that. Surely Interpol has been contacted about the disappearance of Madeleine so they should be the ones to coordinate any sightings. Again another bizarre act, especially when they are still suspects in this case.
Is this something that "normal" people would do. I dont think so. Not at all.
Are they trying to undermine the investigation again.

I have already stated my views on this matter and will say it again it is not right for the McCanns to do this?

Someone must inform the McCanns that the setting up of this hot line is wrong. It must be remembered that the Portuguese Police have name the McCanns, official suspects of killing their daughter whether by accident or murder?.

What happens if someone gives them important information or facts that could incriminate the McCanns? The legality of such a hotline becomes more questionable is now all official numbers have been removed.

A bit like my council here, me thinks. You are not allowed to phone the relevent department direct, and have to now go through a switchboard, so if that department does not want to speak to you, then you are fobbed off.

Now with the McCanns, i believe that if they are suspects longer that eight months, the pj either have to charge them or release them from their Arguido status.

Now if this is true, and all the information is going to be phoned in straight to their people on the end of the phone, they can divert all the bad bits or conveniently forget it, and after their eight months is up they have got away scot free....Think about it.

Very suspicious.

Why remove the telephone numbers that have been advertised on posters, on tv and everywhere else for the last 5 months.

Wouldn't it be sensible to add the hotline number to the other two numbers as a complimentary one?

This hotline is NOT a freephone number - the profits are split between the provider and the 'client'.

Sounds like just another way to fill the McCanns moneybags, whilst taking away two other links to find their daughter.

Intel hit the nail on the head there. The antics of the McCanns makes it so difficult for us all to keep up and that's just what they want.

Surely rather than remove the other numbers you would simply add the new to the others, For what reasons what anyone remove the old numbers?

Shows how much they are interested in themselves and not in finding Maddie, imagine that I see her while Im walking around, dont have credit on my phone and dont have coins for the phonebox, I wouldn't be able to pass the information as quickly as is needed.

If your child is missing you would like to give people all possibilities to communicate their information. They just want to make money. and as we said, what is the fund for? just for paying hotels, planes and a nice life while you are not working?

This is really wrong! The suspects filtering info before the police hear it! Where would this ever happen?

In their shoes I think I would like to know what people are going to tell the police.

First of all, they were not allowed to advertise the phone number in Portugal.

Second, the other phone numbers have not resulted in any hot leads so why do you condemn for trying a new angle?

You antis crack me up. If you are so sure the parents did it, then why does this phone bother you? Are you afraid someone is going to call and give information that proves they are innocent?

Why shouldn't the parents be privvy to all information
THEY HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH A CRIME.

Hello? Did you hear me????????
