They hanged an Afghan boy because he was carrying around U.S. dollar bills: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071001/ap_on_re_as/afghan_violence

This is yet another egregious example of what happens when an extremist religious group has power.

Would you like the McCanns on trial ?
(I mean "on trial", not "found guilty")
Would you like any evidence against them to be tested in a "court of law" ?
Do you call/consider the McCanns FUGITIVES or.... so DESPERADOS" (Spanish word not Portuguese) that they took off to Portugal the moment they were make official suspects ?
Apart from the good things that already happened to the McCanns like the owner of Virgin giving them £100,000, what would you like to happen to the McCanns now (apart from the good things that already happened to them ? A FAIR trial ? Surely they can't object to that !!!

Further to my last question, do you not think it is about time that we, the taxpayers, stopped allowing this Government to hand out our money willy-nilly to those on benefits? As the purpose of benefits is to help those most in need, why is it not feasible to issue food/heating/clothing vouchers that could only be spent on the essentials, instead of cash that can be spent (potentially)on fags, booze and drugs. I'm sure it would massively cut down the number of claimants.

Apart from those genuinely unable to work through disability or circumstances, can anyone give me a compelling reason why those claiming benefits should not have to work for their benefits, ie. clean the streets, paint over graffiti?

Time and again they come out with so called police leaks. The Portugese ought to tell their press to stop doing so as it threatens the case either way.

If the police had evidence that has been suggested they would have called them in by now.

It was alleged that the four-year-old smashed the back of her head on a ceramic flagstone at her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Fearing they would be charged with manslaughter, Kate and Gerry McCann then got rid of the body, possibly with the help of their friends, it was alleged.

If you haven't yet please do and spare a thought and a prayer for her parents too ( even though I believe they are involved ).
Against the McCanns or in favour, they are all victims of this tragedy. I even prayed for the Portuguese POlice who have this apparently impossible case on their hands, who probably have evidence to arrest and the court to convict but have had their hands tied.
So... have you prayed for Madeleine to be found safe and sound ? If they find her it would make my day, my week, my year !!!

Firstly they are innocent because none of the lies told by the Portuguese police to scare innocent witnesses have worked. The other thing is that any lawyer would get the case thrown out due to an internet and media hate campaign preventing a fair trial.
The hate spilled over to the media and thereafter to the police.
All this with not a single thread of real evidence, just police tactics--look back and you will see--all the evidence came from the police and it was ALL subsequently dropped.

Surely the parents should have put safety catches on the windows or kept them closed if the child could reach them - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7021642.stm - why didn't the child's parents take precautions?
