No, I can't give you a genuine reason but before benefit claimants, I'd have prisoners, shackled together in a chain gang to prevent escape doing this work. They are in fact kept entirely at her majestys pleasure and our cost. There's no reason why they can't be used to tidy the sides of our roads, clean up grafitti and a few other chores that might, just MIGHT make them think about commiting a crime again.

My state pays for babysitting for single moms or dads on benefits. They will also pay for community college and daycare while you are at college. We have rules as to how far you can recieve benefits depending on your circumstances. My parents are both disabled and do not quailfy for any benefits except a little heating assistance. Luckily they manage their money well. Now we have alot of Somali refugees where I live in the rules for them are different. They can just suck the system dry as long as they like. They give them an apartment, a mini van , food stamps, monthly checks. Some of them have been here for about 9 years or so and are still getting a free ride. I believe a single mom on benefits has 4 years to get off the benefits.

Most benefits are earned, such as unemployment, social security and most disability benefits are based on one's earnings at the time they became disabled. The various social service agencies in the U.S. are tasked with a nearly impossible job of trying to determine who in fact actually is genuinely unbal; to work. It is easier for the outsider who knows about somebody's cousin's aunt's neighbor that is soaking the system than it is for the agency that must investigate each and every claim made.

If the government make people work for their benefits they would need to pay them the minimum wage because in truth they would be doing a job.

Because then it wouldn't be a benefit, would it? It would basically be government-funded odd-job men.
