Time and again they come out with so called police leaks. The Portugese ought to tell their press to stop doing so as it threatens the case either way.
If the police had evidence that has been suggested they would have called them in by now.

Paul C - a good point - the same as mine. We need more press control in these situations.

paudman - they wont need to get off on a technicality - they can't receive a fair trial because of the press written about the case - both pro and anti them

Ladybugs - I agree and perhaps I should have worded it about both the pro and anti press.
Only the press are winners in this.

Well I guess some could easily ask the question...When will the British media stop their press printing about how innocent the McCanns are when they don't have any evidence themselves. The British press has come out with so called McCann leaks. I read an article in the British press yesterday and they quoted someone connected with the McCanns as saying they did nothing wrong. That would be a lie and we all know it is a lie because they did do something wrong. It certainly wasn't right to leave their kids alone. So maybe the press on both sides of this story need to keep quiet. You cannot just blame one.

Only when they are UNsubstantiated for everything they have printed so far has been very convincing.
Don't forget it isn't only the Portuguese press. The German press has sided with the Portuguese in this case and so have the French, Austrian and apparently the Danish too (not sure if Danish or Finish).
We don't hear about other countries' press because we do not speak their languages, LOL. I can speak Portuguese fluently and read their papers as well as ours. The Portuguese are a cool people. Honest, I know them well. They don't give a toss if one of their own is found to be the culprit, so long as the truth comes out. Like the English, they are very family orientated and would love to see the killer/s of Madeleine fried !! They don't see Maddie as a girl with a mark on her right eye... they see her as a CHILD like their own.
Likewise, the PJ-GNR does not give a toss either about the tourism industry, LOL !! To imply that Portugal is dying to receive tourists at any cost.... think again !!!

My answer to "Rob J" -- they are already very successful doing that, LOL !

" Ladybugs " -- is a star !!

The Portugese will not act to put a stop to it because its just what they want, the more rubbish printed by the papers, the more people(well some people) will believe it,that will take the heat off the police.

I think this question is just as relevant of the unsubstantiated rubbish that comes from the McCann camp. They should just deal with it between the lawyers.

Stupidest question of the day?
How successful do you think the British govt would be in telling the British press what to do?

Thank goodness someone is attacking this pair of disgusting people. If they're so innocent, out of all the legal services available, why have they gone to the legal firm which defended the Omagh bombers? BECAUSE THEY CAN GET OFF ON TECHNICALITIES!! They'll be teaming up with OJ Simpson next.

they should, its unfair too. some of the stories they are coming up with are ridiculous, basically they are crap and keep coming up with all these 'theories' to cover up the fact that they are getting no further with this...
