Education is actually the only way to keep corruption from happening to any select group. And even then it is up to the individual whether or not they want to exercise free choice and indulge.
I think banning something just because it is offensive to some is ridiculous. The problem with banning is that it is tantamount to censorship. Once you let censorship sink its ugly roots into society, albeit only YA society, it's not long before everything that you hold free and sacred is banned because someone doesn't like it.
Yeah, let's ban stupid people next, and then people over 6' tall, then blonds, then people with blue and brown eyes, etc. See how quickly it eliminates everyone? That's the evil of censorship just because someone doesn't like it and wants it banned!

I am a smoker, and here in New York smoking is banned everywhere...BUT my home, and the streets! I vote for an under 18 ban! ( not always, there are some really great kids on here!! and we should NOT glamorize smoking, I have tried to quit, and they say it is worse than trying to quit hard drugs!..there is NOTHING pretty about the bottom of a dirty ashtray, or lung cancer!)

What rubbish!
In a world of suffering, horror, unfairness, starvation, deprivation and death, some dope wants to ban "smoking avatars"!
I think ALL the so-called avatars should be banned.
They all resemble child-prostitutes and rent boys.
Look at them! See what I mean?

Yes definitely. On second thoughts maybe it would be a better idea to ban the under 18's?

Yep. We don't want to corrupt the fragile little minds of our teenagers. The sweet innocent things that they are.

Yes it definitely should. One problem under age smokers braking the law and doing it anyway. You would need some sort of con troll over it.
