I thought there was something odd, why has Cuddle Cat been dumped? I expect it was considered too irritating after all this time, I know it was irritating me. Looks like a lot of time and effort was made in grooming them for this interview. I agree very rehearsed.

I was a bit torn when I watched this interview. I did think that Kate looked emotionless and then when she started welling up I could not help but think that maybe she is not one to show her emotions as much. They have had six long months of looking for Maddy and have had to keep it together for the sake of their twins and that is something people, and myself included, seem to forget. Would we all have been happier if she had sat there and sobbed her heart out? I have said in the past that they seem quite an odd couple and their behaviour in the past has not added up and yes, I have been one of those people accusing them of having something to do with it. I am not saying they are totally innocent, as they left their kids alone to go and have a meal knowing their was a nanny service they could have used, but it has been six months and still no evidence has proved they are guilty of anything. It is very easy to sit and preach about what we all think has happened to Maddy but I suppose we will never really know. It seems we have all lost the hope that Maddy will be found and have chosen instead to accuse the people closest to her. We can all get on our high horses and say what we think but none of us are in that position so cannot say how we would cope.

Due to the fact that I sit in neither the pro or anti camp (I have decided to go with a thing called "evidence" rather than the media) this isn't a comment based solely on the McCanns but...
I am certain it would be rehearsed, most major interviews are (see Diana, Michael Jackson etc etc) and the TV is regularly showing embarassing moments where people have finished interviews and carried on speaking afterwards and just said something personal.
Hey, just an opinion...

Well I think the stage beckons for Kate and Gerry always looks like a prize fighter.
Now there r two careers ready made for them if they cannot return to medicine.

By Spanish I presume you mean the Portugese? Or is it that the Spaniards dare not criticise the Portugese, who have failed at EVERY step of the investigation? How many more 'lead detectives' need to be 're-assigned' before the message sinks in - incompetence unrestrained.
The Portugese police force and the press are both controlled by the government who are interested in burying this case as it's detrimental to the tourist trade in Portugal for people to be aware of how poor the legal system is there.
Somewhat strange that they gag the McCanns by using the portugese laws (hence why Gerry is saying to Kate, 'say nothing more'), yet the Portugese police leak half-truths to their press in order to discredit the British. Let's face it the only 'official suspects' so far are the McCanns and an Ex-Pat.
The whole idea that they have staged this elaborate a cover up is just ridiculous. Clearly you've been taken in by the lies and half truths 'reported' by the press whose only goal is to sell more copies and make money from advertising.
I'd be even more shocked to find the interview/press conferences weren't rehearsed. The UK detectives working WITH the McCanns will have coached them in the right body language and phrases (and props if that's truly what you believe the cat was *sigh*), that they need to use to make the real abductor(s) more inclined to return Maddy, or to make a mistake.

Why would that be? Hmmm, let me think about it . . . maybe, just maybe, he didn't want her to jeopardize the search by appearing TOO emotional, and giving the abductor what he wants to see, or to say something bad about the interview or the public, or even something personal she doesn't want the world to hear. Honestly.

The irony being she didn’t in fact hold a consistent gaze with the Camera, at least not what I saw this morning on GMTV, her eyes were all over the place, she wasn’t even able to hold a gaze with the interviewer unlike Gerry, which I don’t believe I need to go into the psychological elements of that as somebody will jump on the crusading cause for me no doubt, and some would-be psychologist will do the work for me.
Anything is a good excuse to bombard these people with hostilities these days, whatever the outcome, the whole situation has served to prove the maliciousness of the human race.
I didn’t realise the Medieval times were very much still with us, quick, let’s huddle round and start a fire!

Squeeze out one tear? no, she wiped away an imaginary tear, i did try hard to be objective with the interview but if anything it only reinforced my belief in their guilt. The emphasis was on Kate the grieving mother, Gerry quieter than usual,no matter, the acting was abysmal as usual.
