dont the McCanns RISK going to jail, and reveal every shred of truth and evidence they and the tapas lot know. Surely it would be more beneficial to their cause and get more public support for revealing the truth. Let the PJ do whatever they want but its more important for them to reveal the truth. The search for Maddie would continue and the case would be ongoing. At least it would prove they are innocent and have the balls to risk their liberty to conclude Maddies fate.

They don't want to antagonise the police, they don't want to jeopardise the investigations, they don't want to jeopardise Madeleine and that is to me shows their character.

Proving their innocence is a secondary thing. Finding Madeleine is the most important thing to them right now.

I take it you mean reveal the truth in order to get the public back on their side and searching for Madeleine again, but in the process risking a jail sentence for breaking the secrecy laws.
Personally I don't think it's necessary, and it probably wouldn't work in any case.
How do you know that the McCanns version of events we're already aware of isn't the truth, but certain people just refuse to believe it?
If YA is anything to go by (and I sincerely hope not) most people who already think the McCanns are guilty seem so entrenched in their views that they wouldn't be swayed by anything less than Madeleine being found alive.

Not too sure about being neutral.

They have 2 other children so i don't think them going to jail to prove their innocence would be beneficial to them somehow!

There are the twins to consider but yes they may gain more public sympathy. Also they then could not write a book do a movie deal if they tell all now.

Neutral????
Why would they go to Jail? I don't understand. For what reason would they be jailed? If they were jailed because of their involvement in Madeleine's disapperance, there would be no more search.
You are suggesting that they be imprisoned to prove their innocence?
What is it that I don't understand here?

i agree, as its a well known case all over the world, they should all reveal what they know as a set up by the pj is out of the question, too many people watching for them to get away with that. nothing to hide, then say what you know.

How would going to jail help in finding Madeleine?

Well they hightailed it out of Portugal pretty quickly when the going got hot.
They have a lot of help from "high up" friends and they are going to battle it out with the help of their lawyers.
The truth is out there!
Whether the PJ will ever be able to get at it without any interference remains to be seen.

They have revealed every shred of truth & evidence & all they & their friends know to the PJ & the PIs involved BUT no one wants to believe them. Also, the media is not privvy to this info which makes the fickle public extremely suspicious.

Not all folk are willing to be neutral observers like you, Theo. Some come up with the most wild & outlandish theories based on nothing but speculations & rumour & conjecture.

They have two other kids to consider and 12 months in jail for either of them might be a bit much. Much better to avoid jail time and keep gobs shut I guess....................
