I have just been talking to a friend on MSN, where my display name is "Madeleine". I have just had someone (on my contacts from goodness how long ago, can't even recall who it is) messaging me, saying "Why don't you get a life, you sick f*****".

Apparently, they took offence at me using the display name "Madeleine". Which is fair enough....except it happens to be MY flippin' name. When I explained this, the response I got was that it was "bad taste to use it at the moment".

Am I supposed to change my name now to spare the fragile feelings of a handful of people?

i have seen a lot of questions on this and without putting any more fuel in the fire do you think all this negative gang bashing if you want to call it helps.
what gerry and kate mcann did was wrong and im not defending them for leaving there children, but how many of you have done something in life that, has caused concequences, and i dont mean just with your children.
there is one person on here that has a personal vendetta against the mccans so it seems ,no names mentioned, but when is all of this they left there children alone going to stop?

Seriously, I dont understand this.

If aborting a fetus is considered murdering a human being, than how is it justifiable to murder a fetus simply becuase the mother was raped?

If it is a living human being at conception, isnt it ammoral AND even worse than murder to kill it simply because the mother didnt know the father and went through an extremely traumatic experience conceiving the baby?

If an abortion is murder, isnt it a murder regardless of the situation regarding the conception? Is it fair to murder a living person just to save anotherr person from 9 months of anguish, when the ycan put it up for adoption?

I dont understand this seeminly contradictory stance on abortion, someone want to explain?

Oh, and lastly, I am pro chocie and think all abortions should be legal in the first two trimesters, I jsut dont understand how one can be considered murder and the other not.

I am polling people to find out what they think of abortion, what they believe( or don't believe) the government should do about abortion, and how they think abortion affects society as a whole.

I even caught myself doing it earlier. I saw the headline 'Pope blesses Madaline's' and automatically thought "Yep, that's as he hasn't got the real thing to bless".

Now I'm not an evil person and at the end of the day an innocent child is missing - so WHY are people so against the parents.

Is it as they left her alone?
Is it as the are showing no emotion?
Are people fed up of them being in our faces all the time (similar to what cook Jamie Oliver suffered)?
Are they just an easy target?

Or is there something else ???????

Honest answers please, I would really like to understand what others are thinking.

I have wondered why it is that Barack Obama has risen to the top tier of candidates so quickly and without an experienced past. Who decided that he was a strong candidate to begin with? When and how did that happen? Is it, perhaps, because it makes white people feel good to support a black candidate? Does it ease their conscience and help to expiate their perceived sins against black people? Do they look forward to the opportunity of saying in front of a black person that they are voting for Obama? Do they fear black people and want to appease them? Do they think Obama is the "safe" black candidate that they have been waiting for?

Being as Al is a politician it is hard to believe that what he is doing is for the good of us all. I know he has a movie out and a book and he has been jetting around the country making personal appearances. This begins to sound kind of like a business more than someone wanting to make a public service announcement.

Taken direct from the NSPCC website

There is no UK law stating the age at which a child can be left at home alone. However, parents can be prosecuted for wilful neglect if they leave a child alone or unsupervised "in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health" (Children and Young Persons Act 1933). Your neighbour may be having difficulties finding childcare. Perhaps the family is isolated and lacks the support of relatives and friends? As a neighbour, could you offer help with contacting local support services or with childcare? See People to talk to for organisations that offer childcare advice.

Looks like it's going to be wilful neglect then

So in Texas if you are a mom insanity is always going to get you off the hook??? Just read this article and tell me what you think!! Pay attention to the very end of the article!

Even if they were insane that does not mean its ok to kill a child or harm a child...they should still be in jail w/ the death penalty.....it may teach parents to get help when they see depression signs........

I am sure this has been asked before, but I would like some new and fresh answers. Let's Bush wakes up tomorrow morning and says, okay, let's bring our boys home. *girls too*

What would happen then, in your opinion. This is just hypothetical, and just your opinion, but I want to hear all sides. What can you offer to stand behind your opinion?

I thought we were free to express ouselves in this country, other than yelling "fire". I am starting to believe that some in government do not want us to know the truth about some things. I am pretty sure the government does what it may to pacify most from the truth. Is this paranoid. I see it as factual.

I don't understand. Do people not have compassion and sympathy? Or is it another case of empty vessels making the most noise.

Ps: I expect the raging vitriole of all those closet pervs out there who are obviously getting off in some way over this matter.
