i understand that our troops/brothers and sisters are out there dieing (my bro is one of them) but if we pull out... will it take another catastrope like 9/11 to wake us up to how evil these people are? do you honestly think that if we just left tomorrow or even at the end of this year that they would just say "hey, sorry 'bout that whole plane accident... lets put it behind us?" i dont think so, to me that shows weakness. the only reason we made any progress in this war what-so-ever was because the people of the usa were mad and ready to fight. things only started to look down hill when the media only started to show deaths and losses. take everything you know from the war from the media of anykind... do you really know whats going on over there?

30 Billion for aids program and trying to help suffering of refugees in Darfur...WHY NOW? Dont get me wrong by all means it is great. BUt when politicians do a complete 360 like this you have to wonder WHATS ON THEIR MIND. For 6 years it has been IRAQ IRAQ but now with his last 22 months in Office Its AFRica Africa. Is he doing it to win more votes for the next Republican President? We all know politicains will finally start to do the right thing towards the end of their election to build up enough votes next round as if we didn't know that for the first 3/4 of their election they did nothing.
Did they just find more OIL in Algeria then in all of Egypt and north of its border

Her number appears to come from a tally taken from a publication known as THE LANCET, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_War#Worsening_humanitarian_crisis
However this is counting what appears to be ALL Iraqi deaths from lawlessness, healthcare, including insurgents, military, and civilians. So it can be argued how much of this would have occured anyway given a war in theatre or not.

I believe a better total comes from the site here
http://www.iraqbodycount.net/
This lists the civilian death toll due to military intervention in Iraq. Granted that number is also unacceptable, but compared to Rosies propaganda of inflating the numbers, its not as bad.

Cheney was very eager to invade Iraq...

He took control of NORAD just a few months before 911 (the first time any White House official had direct control of NORAD), to make sure standard procedures were not followed on that day, and that the "New Pearl Harbor" would go ahead as planned... Now he wants to attack Iran, which, like Iraq before it, does not pose a threat to the USA at the moment (nor is it in a position to , for years to come)... "..Dick Cheney has personally instructed the Pentagon to draw up plans to nuke Iran immediately after the next terror attack...." (Wait. Let's stop right there and ponder for a moment. Can a veep command the Pentagon to do anything? Apparently so! And here, you always thought the President was the Commander in Chief...) http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/july2005/270705nukeiran.htm Brzezinski Suggests False Flag Event Could Kick-Start Iran War http://www.jonesreport.com/articles/060207_brzezinski.html

Please say it ain't so...

"President George W. Bush looks up as he signs the Military Commissions Act of 2006 in the East Room of the White House in Washington. The bill effectively nullifies nine of the first ten amendments to the U.S. constitution and ends the "great experiment" known as The United States of America..."

Every weekend, the Israeli organisation Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) holds a clinic in the West Bank.
Israeli doctors, nurses, and pharmacists join Palestinian medics to provide healthcare for Palestinians. For many, access to health care is restricted due to the difficulties of travel in the Israeli occupied West Bank.

PHR believes that health care is a fundamental human right, and the organisation aims to build positive relationships between Israelis and Palestinians.

What if it were your very good friends who had left their kids asleep and gone for a meal, but were checking on them regularly, and then their little girl was abducted? Would you say what dreadful people they were, how they probably did it themselves, how they couldn't care less because they're not falling apart in front of the cameras etc etc. Or would you be supportive of them and help keep their child's name in the media? Just wondering.....

Am I the only person to see the irony in this?

You people are slating them for what they are doing saying it isn't helping, yet a question is asked about it every 5 minutes. That's what they are looking for, to keep it high profile so people don't forget their daughter. This would have dropped out of the news a couple of weeks ago if they hadn't been doing what they're doing. I don't necessarily like the dad, and yes they made a huge mistake which nobody agrees with, but now they are trying to make up for it by making sure everybody knows about Madeleine.

As they say, any publicity is good publicity.

The McCanns could make a fortune by marketing this. Perhaps thats why Kate is always seen with it, as a precursor to the marketing launch?

2007-05-30 22:27:51 · 25 answers · asked by Anonymous

I wanted to get behind the emotion and opinion and clarify the facts -

When was Madeline last seen other than by the parents?
What were the families movements that day?
What time did the McCanns leave the apartment?
Who were they on holiday with?
Which parent checked the room and at what time?
Did they actually see Madeline when checking or just saw children in bed in a darkened room?
Were they both returning for the night when they found her gone or was it a check?
Who was the friend who saw the suspect with the bundle?
Was that friend joining the McCanns at the bar?
Was the window forced if so who spotted it and when?
Was the door unlocked if so which door?
How far was the apartment from where they were sat and was there 'line of site'?

Thanks

...In light of a recent and very much talked about media case involving a small child, I feel inclined to ask:

What happened to sympathy and forgiveness in this country??

At what point did we turn into such a self rightious and judgemental society?

I was just curious about this because it seems like a lot of people who do like Ron Paul's ideas and message just feel he still has no shot. Ron Paul's most supportive group right now is the younger voters, which in my opinion are the most important voters in this entire country. They are the one's that will inherit the national debt, the war on terrorism, and pave the way for the future. Yet, as you notice..this year there isn't too much emphasis on getting the young people to the polls...I wonder why not? Why do all the young people love Paul? Because he doesn't sugar coat, and make excuses...he isn't a politician...Ron Paul is a philospher and a man of reason and justice, if you really believe in his message...I encourage each and every one of you to vote, especially the young crowd. So many people never even vote, it's a crying shame. : (

My feeling has always been that if Casey Sheehan knew what his mother did (anti-war protesting) following his giving his life for all of us in the U.S. that he would have detested her actions. Speaking for myself and my son who was a Navy Seal, when I was upset about his exposure to harm, he said "Please, mom, respect my choices, respect my loyalties; any feelings you have against my service are a dishonor to me." I feel that just about any service person defending the US and its positions MUST demonstrate this dedication in order to survive the rigors of war. Otherwise it would be too easy to give up and let yourself be blown to smithereens.
