Total hoax. No way could a boar get that big. Remember the first Hogzilla? They actually dug it up, measured it, and it turned out being alot smaller (although still large) than was claimed.
I have no doubt the kid shot a large pig. But I think the photo was photoshopped, or snapped in a way that distorts how big the pig truly is.

I have caught a few boars around the 100kg to 150 kgs and they were awesomely savage so a pig of 1000 pound would really take some good dogs and more than one bloke with a heap of guts.

The kids no hero that's for sure. He shot it on a game farm, with a .50 caliber weapon, backed up by three people with rifles. What's the big deal. By the way, did he even get his hands dirty.
Bring him over to Minnesota, the Northern woods and I'll show him some hunting, where he'll have to hunt.
