Sorry, I haven't got an answer, but they are some really good questions. I think these are the kind of questions the newspapers should be asking!!!!
Instead they are so busy brownnosing.

I think we should leave the police work to the professionals. However, many people are starting to ask questions about the whole media circus and these media savvy parents. We all have great sympathy for the McCann family and as a parent my heart goes out to them. However, statistics show that thousands of people even children go missing every year and they do not receive the media attention that this family is currently getting.
I feel the parents acted somewhat inappropriately when they decided to go out on the lash and leave their children unattended in a foreign hotel room. It was even more inappropriate when they jetted off to Rome to meet the Pope and dumped the remaining two children!
I'm not sure the Pope can do much! After all it would appear that God aint listening thus far. The Roman Catholic Church has such an excellent reputation when it comes to child protection issues too! Not.
The parents appear to be milking this. They have set up a special fund for the families appeal.... come on these are not poor people. Jerry McCann is a Consultant Cardiologist and his wife Kate a practisicing GP. Furthermore, it appears that they are taking as much financial freebies as possible from whoever is foolish to throw money at them.
Enough is enough, they need to face facts and come home. Settle their other to children into something that represents structure and normality and if they wish to control their search then they do so from home not a holiday complex in Portugal. Afterall, Maddy is well gone by now! The other remaining two children need to be home. The whole family need support because it would appear that they are void of any professional guidance thus far judging by their inappropriate actions. They are in danger of causing nagative publicity to their plight. we appreciate that at times like this behaviour can be erratic but please see sense someone close to them must be able to speak the truth!

And, before the ink was dry on the trademark application, the fund was paying their mortgage, even though at that time they were living rent free in Portugal at Mark Warners expense, and the Portuguese tourism board was picking up car hire and food bills away from the resort.

Ah well, you've come to the right place to get those answers because it seems that some people here not only intimately KNOW what went down, they're experts at analysing body language, character, sequence of events, are all excellent parents (even the ones who don't have kids), judges of character etc. without having done a stitch of forensic investigation - they have managed to deduce FACTS from the yellow press & tabloids and fellow antagonists. Some really amazing detective work has been done here, why don't the cops just log on here and forget about their training & experience...Wow, it's true ALL answers can be found here!

Right, like you'll get that information. You don't think that anyone really wants you to go to Portugal, find Maddy and collect the reward do you? If they gave relevant information they would have half the population of England looking for her for the reward. No one really wants to pay out you know.

there are so many conflicting reports, all we know for sure is 2 adults who are supposed to be well educated left 3 children on their own while they fuc*ked off to get the grub and a few pints
EDIT i think it,s not available to the public either, but it should be, and have they been questioned by the portugese police, because their actions dont seem to be ones of parents who are distressed, and i think they know more than they are letting on, and it is my opinion they have sold her on themselves.
AND BEFORE I GET A SLATING, I AM ENTITLED TO MY OPINION, HOWEVER THE ORIGINAL ANSWER IS FACT
