I thought we were free to express ouselves in this country, other than yelling "fire". I am starting to believe that some in government do not want us to know the truth about some things. I am pretty sure the government does what it may to pacify most from the truth. Is this paranoid. I see it as factual.

That's it, Captain Ding Dong, that's the last straw. How dare you suggest that censorship thrives in America, and how dare you ask it on Yahoo! Answers. I'm reporting you for suggesting there is any kind of censorship.

What are you talking about? You throw out all this conspiracy theory nonsense, but I notice you provide absolutely no evidence to support it. Who is censoring you? How? Where? Just go to the bookstore, for pete's sake. You can find a book on just about ANYTHING. Right wing, left wing, radical, conspiracy theories, anti-Bush, pro-Bush, religious, atheist... you name it. No one's being censored by the government. If they were, you wouldn't be able to find just about any information you want in such a public forum as the internet or your local library.

If you are talking about Yahoo, then it is a totally different story. For one thing, Yahoo is a private enterprise. It is owned by someone who has to make certain that they don't get their rear end sued by someone. Naturally they have to delete messages, and I have found that 99% of the messages and questions that are deleted (including a few of my own) were directly violating the rules of the forum. The rules are clearly stated, and you don't have to be here if you don't like it. It has nothing to do with censorship.

despite the fact that we are one of the "free"est country's around, the government is afraid that if the citizens are aware of what is really going on, we couldn't handle it. Bush will be gone none too soon for me. He is the worst president ever when it comes to our rights to privacy, putting issues to a vote, etc. George Bush has never been anything more than just slightly below average until now, he is far below average now. Bush is a liar, a cheat and is dishonest as the devil himself. Maybe we should have some new requirements for electing a president, like say, the ability to form a sentence.

What ARE you talking about? You can say whatever you want in America. Private venues, however, aren't required to print you. For instance, you have no complete freedom to say what you want in a newspaper, on television or on yahoo/answers. All are private entities and can censor content to whatever extent that they chose. You agreed to rules of behavior when you signed up for the service. Learn to read what you sign and live by your word.

Censorship has become a HUGE issue on yahoo! They routinely delete questions and in some cases entire accounts simply because some one doesn't like what you said and reports you.

Sad, truely sad.....

Unfortunately, there are political cowards in the US who censor truth-full opinions. I would like to add that Israeli media websites are full of those political cowards.

Things in the US are censored and we are getting our rights taken away on a daily basis.

You can't do this... you can't do this...
