ok so i know alot of people have been talking about this situation, but i just wanna say something...

i think this cho sueng hui person was really disturbed, i mean from all the stories ive read on yahoo news about him... i dont think it seemed that "unpredictable", he wrote stories which were clearly disturbed, and people reacted to that (such as his poetry teacher) by kicking him out of her class. do u think that if anyone tried to help him, they could have stopped this? i mean, i know people tried to talk to him, but no one really tried to help him, my best friend's older sister was there when the shooting happened, and she was traumatized, but what she told me is that she saw him alot, and despite all of the effed up things he did, she wasnt scared of him, and she wanted to speak to him, but she just thought he wouldnt answer her back, honestly, i really do hope that all the victims do rest in peace, and i am 100% against terrorism, but dont u think that this boy was just ill?

too practice, shoot animals, shoot the wall??..in all honesty...shouldnt he have wrote on paper work what the purpose of this gun was for?..it heck wasnt for practice..if it was he sure hit 32 targets...

wouldnt u have suspected something weird about this boy..im asian..and i definitely wouldve known if i was the owner of the gun...not to sale it too him..

anyways..this thing is annoying, cuz the asian boy was mentally insane, u gotta have pure satan in u too do that..but at same time the gun was handed too him by the owner..no matter how much proof or background...so owner is part of it as well...

imagine if u was owner of gun? how would you have reacted to a quiet asian boy all of a sudden walking in your store...young too...looking for trouble...

I know the arguments about the war on terror(I am an english ,normal atheist),but the press attention is so pro-'new' news that hundreds of Iraqi innocents killed horrifically is not considered as important as the college atrocity.Surely all death by murder is the same?

A person buying a handgun should have to POST A NOTICE like a restaurant does when getting a liquor license.

The notice should be out for 30 days (In the news paper, on the applicant's home, on the internet) and give the public the opportunity to come forward and make a claim of some kind as to why this person is not suited for a firearm.

Of course the claims should be substantiated.

Anyway, I am sure there are kinks to this, but it could work with a little thought.

the rage of the community may be directed at other asians in the united states and people who are grieving may be blinded to the fact that what he did was an isolated case and not all asians have murderous urges.i think my concern is valid since asians are already isolated enough in the US and a grievous incident like this may cause people to direct their anger towards the entire race and not just on the one at fault.

Why aren't nations from around the globe doing anything about the ethnic cleansing thats going on in Sudan. When the German Nazis starting persercuting all the Jews, aawwww, it was hell and World War 2. So why aren't they trying to move the Sudanese government from power. But they can invade Afghanistan and Iraq and kill thousands of our most bravest troops for oil. To sit and watch them try to wipe out my people is disturbing, I can't live in a world like this any longer !

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victims at virginia tech. Why must the news go into the life of the idiot who killed so many innocent people. Take the time and tell about the lives of the innocent victims, what they were like and what they did in their lives.
The media really needs to get their priorities straight, when you ask someone "how did you feel when your found out your stepson was one of the victims" how ignorant is that question,
focus on the right things.
The shooter was a physco lets leave it at that and help and support the victims families.

I am worried because two of my friends go there and I need to know if they are okay. Has the names of the victims been released? How would I get that information? Call the campus? Thanks.

And since his "War on Terror" is a Global thing should not the UN be involved in this mess more than we are?

Recently our town had the middle school students go through a drill. A week later a man with a gun attempted to get in and the school went into lockdown. While everyone was safe, some of the kids received detention for talking to each other because creating noise could have identified their potential location to the would-be shooter. In the wake of Virginia Tech, these students now know how their behavior would have affected them.

Would you be prepared to not only keep yourself safe but those around you as well?

Cho had the words Ismail Ax written on his arm, a reference to Islam. Could this be considered a new terror scheme?

The sad thing is in a week, everyone goes on with there own life, but the VA. Tech victims and students will suffer the rest of theirs. Bring back public school prayer and where was the eye in the sky this day? A world that has many security cameras, they don't have one at VA. Tech? Not one? Why was there a 2 hour delay, after the first shooting, The school should of been in lock down mode. They simply were unpreparred and security there, sucks!

That way EVERYONE owns one wheter he be a citizen ,criminal , kid , grandparents , illegal alien or even your houshold pet.

Fully automatic fireams should also be legal.
That way if EVERYONE is armed no one will get killed unarmed.

Think of it as the Wild West.
If they can't afford one the government will give you a loan to buy one be it a pistol or a submachine gun.

NOT THAT IT IS AN EXCUSE! The VA Tech guy was a loner. Shock, huh? I know he was probally teased growing up especially since he was foreign. I don't think there were many Asian kids in his childhood schools. They probably made fun of his slanty eyes and he may have had an accent that kids thought sounded funny. I bet rarely anyone went out of there way to include him like ask him if he'd like to play ball, sit with them at lunch, and other normal things like that. People probably called him names. I know this because I was a loner. I was very preety and had cool clothes and came from a rich family but I had a nervous condition that made me shake all the time, I sucked at sports and was painfully shy. People were merciless. However, it just made me suicidal not homicidal. I THINK TEACHERS REALLY NEED TO START TELLING KIDS THAT THEY NEED TO QUIT MAKING FUN OF KIDS BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS IT CRUEL BUT THEY COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO ACTUALLY KILL THEMSELF BECAUSE (cont'd)

Columbine, the Amish, Virginia Tech, countless others...when are the "Good ol' Boys" in Washington going to actually change the gun laws and start protecting the general population of this country instead of kissing the NRA's a**?

2007-04-18 00:36:46 · 11 answers · asked by Laurie K 5

In light of recent national incidents, do you feel safe with the current gunlaws? Or should they step up the restrictions?
Personally, I believe a criminal will not care how many gun laws are put in their way. If they want a gun, they will find a way to get it.
