i dont understand how this maniac had enough time to close all doors with chains, no one even see him and kill 30 people 2 hours after he killed the first person.... Bad security??? can anyone answer why nothing was done before??

There's no excuse to why the campus wasn't closed down after the first incident. It's a shooting, not a fight or someone got stabbed. Two ppl were dead, point blank. That's more of a reason to close the f'ing school down. Why wasn't it broadcast over the loud speaker. A school that big has got to have a loud speaker warning students. They should've had security at every entrance when students were arriving to the campus to redirect them back home until the first incident was thoroughly investigated.

This is a cover-up. 26,000 students could've been warned in 2 hours. Someone needs to be fired for this s**t. This is unacceptable.

I really feel sorry for the parents and families of the students and faculty members that were lost due to this tragedy.

Please everyone stop making excuses for the Admin, and the Chief officer of the school. Whether or not, the first incident was a domestic dispute, two students were killed and that was enough grounds to shut the campus down completly. Two hours was enough time to get the word across campus and could've of possibly save 32 student lives.

I think that they completely underestimated the initial shooting - it was first reported as a "domestic" incident because the victims happened to be a male and female. That left an enormous number of students in the dark where the situation was concerned. You've got 1,000's of students not even knowing that this has taken place going to class as usual. This guy could've slinked away from the crime scene, watched to see the reaction of the police and school - or lack of reaction as it were - realized that they'd handed him a free ticket to REALLY do some damage and taken it. With absolutely no one else on campus knowing that they NEED to be on the look out for someone dangerous or suspicious, he was probably able to move just as freely as he wished. He knew the schedules so he knew when it was safe to move and when he needed to be cautious. I think that the school and police gave this guy more power by underestimating him.

Funny thing after serving in the Military and coming home from a War! After seeing 9/11 take place! I wonder why people fail to still be aware or they're surroundings? I also wonder this "In a life or death situation why no one reacts?" But the answers to these questions are hard for most to answer because they always choose to place blame! However, I myself strong believe I would have reacted when he change magazines, or noticed someone trying to lock me in! Call me crazy, but I watch folks like a hawk! Apparently (from wire reports) the gunman shot people while police and SWAT teams milled around outside, heavily armed and with bullet proof vests on.

I have no idea why they didn't megaphone him, break in and stop him, or otherwise prevent the carnage from rising so high.

its very sad but in all school shootings security was the big issue even with the twin towers all you can do is pray to god and to tell him to wake the security up, quit helping other countries first, we need to take care of our own problems here at home and safety is a big issue
