Columbine, the Amish, Virginia Tech, countless others...when are the "Good ol' Boys" in Washington going to actually change the gun laws and start protecting the general population of this country instead of kissing the NRA's a**?

Now is the time to say enough is enough.....
When a similar incident (a massacre of 35 people) happened here in Australia in 1996 thats when we had had enough....... as a result gun violence has fallen significantly.... Prior to the new gun laws mass shootings were frequent in Australia (much like in the US)
Its time for Americans to push for tighter gun control.....

The right to bear arms is MY constitutional right. As many have already stated, guns DO NOT kill people. People with bad intentions kills people.
I don't think I've ever seen a gun get up and walk out of my house, by it's own accord, to go kill someone.
Let's look at this from a different angle. Investigators have already said that Mr. Cho's creative writing raised several flags. Why wasn't this given to police officers when they actually could've done something about it. (Such as placed him on a 5150 hold) Then he wouldn't have been able to buy the guns in the first place.
Everyone wants to point fingers but the truth is the public relations director of VT is looking pretty stupid right now since he stifled a bill a few months ago that would've allowed students with a valid CCW to carry concealed on campus. One person could've fired back and this massacre wouldn't have occurred.

Two trite but true statements:
A. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
(I have yet to hear of a gun killing anyone unless it was in someone's hand)
B. If you outlaw guns only the outlaws will have guns.
(If someone doesn't respect the law it doesn't matter how many laws you make)
After reading some more of the updates on Cho Seung-Hui, I think that the question should be more about how we treat and react to one another as people than to how we regulate, register, outlaw, or otherwise treat the ownership of firearms. Nothing could explain or justify what this disturbed young man has done, but some more awareness and concern by those around him could have at least accomplished something to prevent the tragic slaughter which took place. Two of Cho's English professors, Nikki Giovanni and Lucinda Roy, along with some students in their classes seemed to take notice, but apparently not enough other people took enough notice to prevent what happened.

Yes, we need to change our laws. Virginia is a right to carry state. However, college campuses are off limits for carrying (even for licenced CCW holders). In other words, guns were ALREADY banned on campus. Did that stop Mr Cho from bringing guns to campus and using them? It did NOT.
No one is advocating that everyone carry guns. But it just might have made a difference if at least one or two responsible people inside West AJ or Norris Hall were CCW holders and armed at the time. Would it have prevented all of the shootings that day? Probably not. Would it have reduced the number of fatalities and injuries? Almost certainly!!!

When Laurie gets an education and realize that gun ownership is by far the most regulated of our Constitutional rights. Laws would not stop what happened today...there was a law banning guns on campus. Did that stop the guy?
There are laws banning the sale and use of narcotics...does that stop them?
There are laws against driving drunk, do they stop it?
I could go on and on...laws and regulation will not solve this problem. We as a society have to start teaching people that value of life. The liberals have spent 40 years tearing away at that value with things like legalized murder (abortion), protecting song lyrics about killing cops as freedom of speech, and all sorts of other ludicrous examples. (ACLU defending NAMBLA)
There is a point where you have to ask "What is best for society." I will entertain the idea of restricting the 2nd amendment when the liberals will actually talk about restricting the 1st.

It's gonna take a miracle simply because the U.S.A. doesn't have any morals or good sense anymore. It never did. If it makes a lot of money, do it. That's our motto. Money is everything to us in the U.S.A.
I'm surprised child prostitution isn't legal here. Gun and ammunition manufacturers make $millions$. Do you think they want gun control? They pay our government to keep quiet about it, because people in the U.S.A. government are nothing but corporate prostitutes. Many of them are literally on corporate payroll. Sickening isn't it?
This is a country and the only country that dropped the most unimaginable and gigantic toxic atomic bombs on two cities in a foreign country that produced an amount of large scale destruction never seen before or since, and we're surprised we don't have gun control?
We bully our way into countries where we are not even welcome and squat (set up military bases). We start offense wars and commit genocide that isn't even reported about on the USA news. Why should anyone be surprised that we don't have gun control?
Some would make the argument that if the koo-koo clock that killed 30 people on a Virgina campus didn't have a gun he would have used something else. However knives, clubs and baseball bats can't kill 30 people in 15 seconds like a machine gun can, can they?

America will never say enough is enough!
We think it is perfectly OK to have TV series, Video games, Movies, and News Casts based on violence and mayhem.
And it is perfectly OK to use automatic weapons when we go hunting for Deer, Rabbits, and other dangerous animals!
It is very obvious that Americans actually thrive on this sort of thing.
And isn't it ironic that we can spend billions of tax payers dollars on all sort of Wire Tapping, etc.trying to find out who is going to try to destroy this country - but we can not spend any money on sufficient Guidance Counselors to sit down and talk with our school children starting in the fourth or fifth grade to try to determine if that child is having any problems that would cause these things to happen later on in life or whether this child is being bullied, neglected, or ignored?
Why is that I wonder?

All that's needed is to ban handguns and any repeating guns.
We just need to all stand up at once and say 'no' like any set of parents with obnoxious children.
