Do you think McCain's erroneuos remarks and charade about the stability of Iraq encouraged the terrorist in Iraq to prove him wrong? Do you believe that some of this blood is on his hands? Those who orchestrated these attacks are making it very clear who is in control over there. No one is safe.

Assault weapons were taken off the market for awhile and brought back in 1994. Also what about restrictions on selling guns to non US citizens? Why not have laws that are not State laws, but federal laws for every state in banning assault weapons to prevent the ease of being able to purchase these kind of weapons as the kind that was used in the VirginiaTech shooting?

Everything i read about the Virginia massacre has some politician saying that it's innapropriate right now to talk about gun control. Isn't right now the best time?
Stupid politicians putting their own careers first, they know how ridiculous theyll sound advocating gun rights at the moment.
I would like to hear your thoughts...

Can every student who was put at risk that day because the school officials and police officials put the students lives at risk sue both the school and police force? Since both obviously can be sued what do you think is an appropriate settlement figure and will each of them demand that appropriate changes be made in both the school administration and the command leadership of the police authorities? Will state and federal gun control law changes be a part of each court settlement?

Almost 180 people died in Iraq today due to the ongoing violence there. Many more unfortunate people are suffering with unexplainable pain due to broken limbs and body injuries and so on. The trauma for their even more unfortunate parents, spouses, children and near and dear are beyond any words can explain. How many people died in this war and the sectarian violence triggered by this war? No one really knows !!! The man who started this unjustified war is still addressing his great nation with his typical wicked smile and asking for more fund to keep the war going. It may sound bit odd when considering the fact that 3,000 + young men and women from his own country had to sacrifice their precious lives for a war that they don't know why they have got into. The question is: Whom to blame for this war? The man who started it by misleading a great nation or can we pass the buck to so and so person who gave the wrong information on the existence of WMD in Iraq?

Just because someone has a clean police record doesn't meant they're not going to take it into their head to kill a lot of people. Should potential gun owners have to take some kind of psychological test in order to purchase a gun? Or maybe you could give them a lie-detector test--e.e. "have you ever wanted to kill large numbers of people at random for no reason?" I don't know what the answer is, but there is certainly a problem. BTW I agree in principle that citizens should have the right to bear arms. In law-abiding Switzerland citizens have not only the right but the duty to keep guns at home (but you get in trouble big time if you use them for unlawful purposes). Maybe there are fewer crazies in Switzerland, though I wouldn't want to speculate why...

specifically regarding comments over VTech massacre.

I've noticed a lot of angry Americans - rebuking any foreigner who dares to commet on US gun laws and culture of violence.. yet Americans and the current Administration aren't shy about condemning other governments for their policies and shortfallings - from Russia to China, Iraq to Venezuala, Afghanistan to Indonesia, Cuba, Iran, Bolivia, etc, etc.

what? they can dish it out but can't take it?

what's good for the goose ain't necessarily good for the gander?

With such high rates of violent crime and incarceration - - shouldn't America get its own house in order before telling the reest of the world how to run thier's??

Cho was AMERICAN. He was here since he was 8 years old. I bet he knows more about US history than the average American.

It's funny because when my vietnamese american friends went to London, Rome, and Paris, they were viewed as Americans. The people there put them in the same category as white americans. And when they came back from the trip...the white americans here categorize them as vietnamese immigrants...not Americans...which sucks a lot.

WE ARE ALL AMERICANS. stop dividing us !

I Do. People around the world don't care. Stop saying they do. They got their own genocides and famines to worry about. If you ever have the chance to watch news from other countries' perspective and have it translated then u can see how they dont give a crap. Some even think that theres finally some justice. Now that's terrible. But thats besides the point. The point is that these speeches I hear will say intermittently that the world is shocked by this. And they are speaking for the whole world by this. And this is just plain arrogant and presumptuous.

Sand Creek massacre ladies and gentlemen is way more horrific.

US General, Chivington and his men killed 150 and 184 innocent Cheyennes. Some were mutilated, and most were women, children, and elderly men! Chivington and his men then showed off his victory on killing defenseless people who only sought peace by displaying their body parts, including human fetuses and genitalia in the Apollo Theater and saloons in Denver. We need to remember this as well.

Just now Dian Sawyer of ABC and other TV sources reported there is a widespread fear griping all US campus. Last night CNN also reported that most Korean students at VT left in fear of retaliation, even though they are not that kind of type----Cho is isolated incident. But the rumor or deliberate racial blaming create nervousness among Korean students, and Chinese students on all other universities across the US. Right now the East Asian parents, who have kids at the US campus, have reasons to be anxious if their kids could be retaliated.
