US General, Chivington and his men killed 150 and 184 innocent Cheyennes. Some were mutilated, and most were women, children, and elderly men! Chivington and his men then showed off his victory on killing defenseless people who only sought peace by displaying their body parts, including human fetuses and genitalia in the Apollo Theater and saloons in Denver. We need to remember this as well.

The worse massacre in the United States were the extermination of the American Indians!
Only that's to embarrassing for the American Government to remember they don't want other countries to know, they genocide the American Indians and then stole their land.
The ones that were left they rounded them up like cattle and put them in concentration camps they called reservations without food, water or shelter and let them die. Where do you think Hitler got his ideas from.
Oh, and did I mention in the dead of winter they gave the Indians malaria infested blankets to keep warm with... Just a little chemical warfare they knew about at the time.
And one other thing in the Northwest they sterilized American Indian females at birth right up until 1964.

If anybody said the VT event is the worst ever recorded, maybe they forgot about 9/11. Or how about Auschwitz?
What I've been hearing is that it is the worst school shooting in US history, and that is correct.
The massacre of Cheyennes you mention was an act of war. It is horrific but in a different category, as is 9/11.

I agree but it seams to me anything about Native Americans is buried but African Americans no mater what the issue is gets top priority over everything, before Blacks were made slaves Indians were forced off their homes killed ,raped and made into slaves
But I think the media is saying that this is so far the worst school massacre but as long as we have immigrants in America there will be violence they hate us yet we give them a free ride.
If we had a real president who cared perhaps he or she would sen all immergrants back to their own country and have better gun control perhaps we need to seperate the races and give them their own sections the way it used to be I think a lot of violence would stop.and this would keep the violenc within their own race and eventually all the bad would kill each other off

I have heard worst massacre in MODERN DAY US. And the worst massacare on a school campus. But have not heard the worst massacre ever recorded, read the headlines a little better.

The media try to sensationalize everything. We must not forget what has happened in the past or we will be forever doomed to repeat it. But the friends and families need this time to grieve.
