the rage of the community may be directed at other asians in the united states and people who are grieving may be blinded to the fact that what he did was an isolated case and not all asians have murderous urges.i think my concern is valid since asians are already isolated enough in the US and a grievous incident like this may cause people to direct their anger towards the entire race and not just on the one at fault.

You are correct, at least partly. Few people are going to stereotype Asians because of this. But those who arre bigoted anyway ( and there are some, unfortunately) will, as racists always do, try to use this as an excuse for fomenting ill will toward those of Asian descent/origin. That will pass--and decent people can keep it to a minimum by challenging these racists whenever we catch them spreading their hate.

Asking if Cho-Seung Hui represented Asians is like asking if everyone that asks stupid questions is dumb. The answer may surprise some, but actually, is NO.

I would hope there would not be any type of retaliation against Asian Americans. But, there are so many people out that thrive off of race fights that I am sure will stand up and something will happen. I have so many great friends that are Asian and I hope people will realize this was an isolated event that happened.

They may suffer at the hand of ignorant people who will want to blame every Asian for the sins of one. The same way Arabs are being blamed for the sins of a few. People need to realize that there are good and bad people of every race, nationality and religion.

NO. Too many Korean Americans who are good people for that to happen.

It has to be a war where we are directing our energy toward a certain country. So far, people with turbans or middle eastern looking features who have nothing to do with the war are targeted all the time.

Well, there are angry people always looking to blame others, so, time will tell.
I would not hold others accountable for what an individual do. Most Americans came from other countries (See US History). So, should I blame the Dutch/Polish etc. decendants because a man/woman are from Dutch/Polish etc. families?

Probably not. The general stereotype of Asians are smart well educated people, and even an incident like this does not hurt it that much.

Only someone very shallow in there thinking or just plain ignorant would judge a whole race of people based on one mans actions.

I don't think so. Everybody knows that this kind of behavior has nothing to do with race or nationality.
In the US most mass murderers are white, of course, since most people are white.
