We planted an avocado tree a year or so ago. It was small, skinny, and grew slowly. There is a huge avocado tree about 6 feet away. Someone told us to plant it near the other avocado tree and it would grow faster.
The other thing about two feet away is an old tree stump. All of a sudden, "Hector" (Yes we named him and call him a boy, lol), seemed weak, and the bottom part of him started turning brown.
All his leaves are brown and drooped. He drooped once before, but it was like he was hibernating, and finally he came out of it. We water him once a week. I think he is pretty much dead, but my husband doesn't.
Is he just playing like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, or is he really dead? Also, can we save him and if so, how?
Thank you in advance.
