So my DH and I have decided that its time to buy a new mattress. He wants a Sleep Number, because are a on a total different end of the spectrum as far as sleep comfort. At first I was all gung-ho for it, but now, after reading customer reviews I'm way more than just reconsidering it. Too many horrible reviews, but there are some really good ones in there too. Then I decided to look into the Tempur-pedic. This brand seems to have a lot more positive comments. But, most of the customers say that the foam mattress sleeps hot...and I DO NOT like that. If I'm going to shell out $1,000 for a mattress, I want it to be worth it. What do you guys think? I like softer mattresses, and my DH likes much firmer. Also, DH is pretty tall (6'5). Would one of these 2 mattresses do the trick, or is there a better mattress out there?

I have a Sleep Number. Do I love it, not love but really like. My problem is I'm big and then my big dogs get on the bed causing my sleep number to change (least the mattress explode??LOL!) So I have to check the number often. The newer mattress are thicker, mine is thin so my sheets don't fit right. What I LOVE about the bed, even after 14 years, is there is no crater in the middle where my butt goes. Granted, the foam bolsters on the sides and middle (king size) have squished down, but the warranty really helped with replacement!! Not that they would have been expensive to replace. That's another factor I like, you can replace parts of the system if a problem creeps in. So other than the skinny mattress that's too small for my sheets and the needs to keep an eye on the sleep number after the dogs sneak in.......I like the system.

My mother has the Tempur-pedic and HATES it. She says she wakes up in a crater as the memory foam doesn't return quickly enough and the same moisture problem other people report. She says she feels like she's been sweating and sleeps in a puddle. I have a Tempur-pedic pillow that I like in the winter but can not use in the summer for the moisture problem

Your first clue should be infomercials.... They are needed to sell seaweed to take for good health, a pill to make a man larger, thigh masters, blow up beds, & all kinds of other junk. No matter how you slice it, it is a blowup mattress. Forget all that nonsense about the "numbers". You can get any blow up matress for under $100 & set the comfort level by how much air you blow into it. You are correct about the Tempur as well. THEY ARE VERY HOT! In the summer you will boil & they are a sponge for sweat. There are real matress stores out there that have them one matress split to two levels (firm/soft, soft/medium, or any combo you want). By far they are still the best thing to sleep on & dont need infomercials to sell either. Ok so you cant bounce on your bead with lose glasses of red wine sitting on it, when was the last time you did that anyway?

I sleep on a sleep number when I go visit my Mom and have The Sealy Brand of the Temperpedic at home. I like the sleep number because I can adjust it just perfect. I like it soft. I would suggest a king for 2 people. The full just isn't wide enough to get the full effect since both sides are adjustable. The memory foam we have is a very good one and will last forever. I don't notice it being hot. I like that it is smoothe and you sink into it. My shoulders don't hurt anymore. I like that it doesn't transfer motion so we can move around and not bother each other. But if I had to choose now, I would get a sleep number for home. It is so much more cozy.

I incredibly have used the Tempur-Pedic pillow and did not incredibly like it - it made my head sweat. I incredibly have in no way used a nap selection pillow. I in simple terms bought the "My Pillow" and actually like it. I incredibly have used it for 3 nights so a techniques and actually sense like i'm drowsing extra helpful.
