A LOT! I live about 30 miles south of Beverly hills. It's one of the nicer places in So. Cal. Assuming you want at least, moderately safe and decent area to live in. An average apt. in Orange county is about $1200 for a one bedroom apt in a not bad area. Unless you are going to make pretty good money at a job you alraedy have, you might consider the surrounding area. Most police department web sites have a listing of crime stats. You can always call them directly and ask the about specific areas.

i hear they are expensive. try to google it and see for yourself. this way you can see what your getting before you get there.
