I have some of my grandmother's lilacs flourishing at my house. I am getting ready to move, but will not be in a permanent location for some time. Can I transplant part of the plant into a pot to plant later at a permanent location?

Stargazer lilies are my favorite flower, but I was wondering if there's a way I can grow them indoors. I'm totally unexperienced in plant caretaking, although I know I have a green thumb because i still have the plant that we grew as a class in nineth grade from a leaf from our science teacher's plant. I love that plant. Is there special dirt I'm supposed to use? Help!

I have a 10x12 wood shed that I purchased assembled. I have to move it about 3 feet.

The shed is about 1200 lbs empty and it sits on a crushed stone bed.

I have a small African Violet bought from a store and it has like 2 parts of tuber. Since I brought it home there has been some green foliage that has developed from both sides of the tuber. These new leaves are green and nice but only on one side of the tuber, the sprout from the other end of the tuber produced green leaves but somehow half of these leaves are blotchy and pale just like most of the older leaves.
I water them mostly by placing the pot in water and if i ever do water them from the top i make sure to avoid watering the leaves and the tuber. I give them 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness and try to provide as much light as I can. I do feed it with an African Violet fertilizer. I changed the soil that it was orignally in and hence it now has lighter soil and good drainage.

What is it that I am doing wrong? I want the foliage to look all green and healty.

Please help!
